The internet is great at spreading informations really quickly and Disney has always had to fight to keep its secrets...I wonder how much more land Walt would have been able to buy if the Sentinel hadn't broken the story about WDW. Once it broke, the price of land went from $100 an acre to $1000 an acre and that was that.

I think Disney was genuinly peeved that the blueprint got leaked.

The impact of the presentation would've been enormous. And would've spilled over into the mainstream, 'non-Disney specific' press and internet much more than it did now. Disney lost out on free marketing buzz owing to the leak.

While I wouldn't say that this type of Guerilla Marketing hasn't ever been attempted before by other big companies. I find it hard to believe Disney would do this, given their track record for secrecy. I just don't buy it.
