also, they do need some kind of pre-show, just to keep people occupied while that really long wait for the show :) the Mexican wave we did back in 99 was fun but after about an hour it got really boring, lol

why not project some movie or something onto the water screens while people wait?

I thought of that but, they wont use any part of show "stuff" before the show. Remember , many haven't seen it and that is a pretty cool feature they won't spoil before it's time.

I always brought a deck of cards with me. If I was down in one of the front rows and had the space, I'd find any of the kids sitting nearby who wanted to play, and we'd play Egyptian war or go fish or something until the show started. The biggest game we got going there was me and nearly a dozen kids. :) Sometimes, too, I'd doodle all over park maps or my autograph book and anything else I could find in my bag.

And hey, at least it's not like Disneyland where the front and center seats are taken EIGHT HOURS before the show starts. ;) And that's sitting on the ground, not even benches. Just 45 minutes of that hurts.

I remember that pre-show with the two guys..my family and I were in the front row of the Mickey section so they were right there next to us...one of them was named Dellman I believe and I remember he was a hottie :animwink: I have a great picture of him that I treasure always  ...oh and yeah we've done the waiting 2 hrs on the metal benches...definitely sucks lol

those guys worked for an outside company contracted by Disney. When they did the first batch of layoffs in 2001, they had already left. Most outside entertainers' contracts weren't renewed long before the layoffs. However, FYI- the same entertainers can be seen in World Showcase either in France or Italy performing some comedy and acrobatics (generally in France)

Tony & Danny??????? Those two are the best!! I haven't seen them around WS when I've caught the chair act in France, maybe they sub on their off days???

When they left Fantasmic I know they went over to Wonders of Life, but I think they were let go in Oct 2001. They were off-property for a while, but haven't seen them being around in a while. I had even heard that Danny went to DLP?

Bring back the bellmen!!!

No pre-show

The guy that played the part of Moe, actually his name is Mike, is from where I live in Tennessee. Last I heard he was still working for Disney but was transferred to other outside entertainment duties. Like a lot of the performers they actually work more than one role in different areas of the parks. It's been a few months but the last time I talked to his Mom he had broken his ankle (yes related to some of the stunts he did at the parks) but was on the mend.

I believe I saw the person that played the part of Lou, who worked with Moe, working Sunset Blvd. with some other streetmosphere actors the first of this month. Kinda hard to know for sure as I had to watch it through a zoomed camcorder.

Can anyone confirm this is Lou?

That was the guy who was dressed like a bellhop from The Hollywood Tower Hotel right?

They really do need to bring back some sort of pre-show. I can't believe people will sit there for 2 hours on those bleachers. I've always wondered why there are no backs on the benches while other amphitheatres that feature this type of seating, except for Festive of The Lion King, have backs on them. It would also stop people from walking on the benches.

I don't care for Fantasmic but if I do end up watching it, I'll usually get a dinner package with the reserved seating.
