Moana and Zootopia, two things that do not represent AK in any shape or form... To replace Dinosaurs in AK, which actually makes sense in Animal Kingdom... Especially if they went back to the OG plans for the land.

Jesus Christ. @marni1971 wasn't kidding when he said idiots are running the parks. The fact that they were even thinking about toying around with the idea of Moana going into AK astounds me... I'm baffled.

How does Moana not fit into AK? I think her bringing in Oceania and aquatic animals makes sense. I think her in Epcot is odd, actually.

Zootopia… agreed.

They’ve already said it returns later this year. Disney gives a season then a date. We can obviously assume it will be Fall 2022 (it will be). No other options. It’s not having opening night during Christmas Week.

They have a target but not a date. So we wait a little longer. They were unwilling to announce a date and risk pushing it back a couple weeks later. So they focused on the other nighttime spectaculars.

We should hear very soon, regardless.

I just really hope and wish it returns before November 1st. I was feeling optimistic there for a bit but now I'm not so sure. I'm going to guess closer to mid November now (which will definitely be my luck since we're there the first week of November)

I hope for Disney's sake they knock this refurb out of the park. They can't afford to screw this up too. I hope all eyes have been on this considering the Enchantment/Harmonious/KiteTails disaster.

what they are building specifically for her in EPCOT - the journey of water, humanity's relationship with water and impact on the ecosystem, etc. ... actually would fit well in AK

What was in the concept art - a spinner ride and mini splash mountain, no so sure

(while not a perfect fit for AK, I do think overall Moana can fit waaaaay better than Zootopia)

Just a RUMOR, but I was speaking to a wonderful CM today on a room change and he was making sure things were Ok overall and told him the only thing we were sad about was no Fantasmic (we go mid-November) and he said “welllll….it might be back by then”, he was obviously completely non-commital BUT made me feel somewhat hopeful! Fingers crossed!

Fellow CM here and I can tell you he is most likely going off the same information you are. This forum and other online rumors. CMs find out at the same time as the general public. I have friends who are in rehearsals for Fant and they don’t even really know when it’s set to open

Front line CMs like this don't have any extra inside information than we do here. More than likely, their source is places like this on the Internet.

Disney has announced that the performers are in rehearsal, and our insiders are pointing to the end of October (barring anything going wrong).
