Fantasmic Reopening Watch

Looks like DL's Fantasmic! is moving to weekends-only (Fri/Sat/Sun) starting this week, and there's only returned about 3-ish months ago.

However, this happened before during this slow time of the year (until like November). Just surprised they're doing it already considering it just came back after being gone for years.

As for WDW's, doubt they would move towards a schedule like this, during any time of the year. If they did, something is really wrong..

WDW (to my knowledge) has always had all their nighttime spectaculars nightly no matter what so I HIGHLY doubt WDW will ever do this.

Not sure if it was this thread or that F! February thread, but it was discussed that there actually was a period of time when WDW's wasn't nightly.

Here's a super old thread from June 2008 of it being cut to two shows a week:

January 2009 it was also cut to two shows a week as per an article from WDWMagic.

Interesting, I did not know that. But that was when there was a BIG recession where the economy and TWDC was hurting a lot. They’re probably not going to that when Fantasmic returns

Not exactly. WDW has typically offered Fantasmic nightly but there was a period where this was not the case. Also for many years fireworks and parades were not a nightly occurrence in the MK.

No I still have times guides from decades ago where SpectroMagic and Wishes/Fantasy in the sky were weekend only, especially after 9/11

DLR always does this, Fantasmic is nightly there only in the summer and is Fri-Sun the rest of the year. This, is, not, new.
I never said they didn't nor was a new thing? I was just stating it is happening now over there and then hoping WDW doesn't follow suit after a couple months. Disney these days (especially WDW) can be unpredictable and cheap..

They tried that in 2009. It didn’t turn out well. It was a swell decision by Erin Wallace.

No chance DHS' moves to a weekend only schedule. The return of Fantasmic, especially updated, will pack them in for months.

Mickey is tired of Mal’s schnitzel and is lighting that witch up.
