Family Suites in the Value Resorts

My brother actually sounds like he may be up for a trip to WDW next year and, depending on our family planning situation, we may be able to pull off a trip as well, preferably together. On the offchance that we're all able to pull off a trip together, I was just curious what the All Star Family suites are like. I would love to stay at the Ft Wilderness Cabins, but from what I understand, there isn't too much privacy there for seperate couples. Are the family suites at the all stars any different? For example, do they have seperate bedrooms, with doors, and a family room in common...as opposed to the cabins where it seems to be just one big room with beds at each end? And how much are they per night? And would that be per couple, or total, to be divided among the couples?

All Star Music I believe is the only one with the Family Suite and there are pictures of the suites along with room layouts on allearsnet.com.

Unless you plan to cook meals on your vacation, you would be better off with connecting rooms at any of the values. More privacy, still the 2 bathrooms, and they cost less than the suites.

we stayed in the family suites last year. not much privacy. one bedroom with a king size bed and in the living room there is a pullout couch, a chair that turns into a twin bed, and a over sized foot rest that turns into a twin bed as well all in one space. if you don't want to be that close to your family, getting two ajoining rooms is better. you still have 2 bathrooms that you could share need be.

All due respect, the value suites are not for you. They are ideal for a mom and dad and children who need more space or if they have more than two kids but do not want adjoining rooms, especially if the kids are teeny. Adult siblings who need privacy are better off in adjoining rooms ...or in different resorts entirely!

EDIT: Here's the description of the suites from allears.net You're basically talking about 2 standard, adjoining rooms renovated to be one bedroom and one family room with lots of convertible furniture, NOT the 2 bedroom-with-a-common-room setting you were thinking of.

"Another advantage to the All-Star Music is the availability of Family Suites. The 520-square-foot Family Suites are located in the Jazz Inn and Calypso buildings at All Star Music, reservations are now being accepted. Rates in the rate table below.

Each suite will sleep up to 6, plus one child in a Pak-n-Play crib. The master bedroom and family room have a 27" flat screen TV as well as high speed internet access. There is a queen bed (sleeps 2), full-size pullout sofa (sleeps 2), convertible ottoman and chair sleeper (sleeps 2). The kitchenette will have a microwave and small refrigerator (4.3 cubic feet) plus a coffeemaker. There are two full bathrooms."

I believe the cost of an ASMu family suite is a little more than the cost for 2 separate standard rooms. Something like $185 in value season.
