Attractions Magazine reported from Innoventions West that IBM was having an opening ceremony for their SmarterPlanet exhibit, which has been slowly replacing their former ThinkPlace (of which I've been thoroughly chronicling in this thread).

An IBM exhibit with a couple of informative games and such. Look back earlier in this thread for pictures.

Really? It's not much of an exhibit, so it's interesting to see this happen. :shrug:

I also heard from the local news that it will have its "official" opening tomorrow.

The press event was this morning around 7AM...even though the exhibit has been open already. :shrug:

The monorail beams around Future World East are being pressure washed and they almost look new. The process is long and tedious as they are only able to get one section done per night. But it looks amazing!

I'm sure they will. I also saw a few other places where they've done it on the property over roadways.

I remember someone wondering if this was going to happen when the picture of the powerwashed beam in EPCOT first showed up. Glad to hear that they are indeed cleaning them. :sohappy:

They finally got around to pressure cleaning World Drive's Walt Disney World entrance gate. The castle was missing from the top, but the "Where Dreams Come True" was still attached. The castle looked like quite the place for our avian friends.

I noticed a large brown stain/burn mark on two of them in Dec. Very odd.

Here's the new poster for EO in DL. Notice it says "Tribute" next to Captain EO.

"Tribute" sounded better than "Cash-In"

And great to hear the beams are being cleaned. I remember the one spot that was cleaned was near TT. Hope it continues to FW West.


The WDW entrance to DAK had a rather brown Castle recently. Looked rusty. Like the "Dreams" promotion. :lookaroun

Is it rust? Looked like a burn mark, to me....Maybe they act as lightning rods. :lol:

Looks good but they need to paint the rest of those buildings because the green and Tan does not work together at all!

I wish they would remove all the clutter in the plaza, those poles and traingles. It would open it up so much more, and just look cleaner and nicer. Ok no more triangles allowed, ever.
