Extra Magic Hours

When the post that the park closes at 11 o'clock and that there is extra magic hours. Are those extra magic hours already figured in or is that tacked on

It's in addition. So if the park closes at 11 PM, then extra magic hours would be until 2 AM...assumming that it's PM EMH and not AM EMH, in which case it would be one hour prior to posted park opening time.

If the park hours posted are 9am to 11pm and there are evening extra magic hours then the park closes to the general public at 11pm and remains open for an additional 3 hours past 11pm for resort guests with wristbands, thereby closing at 2am.

One thing to be careful about at PM EMH - Main street shops and food concessions close when things get slow. I don't think it is a fixed schedule. So if you want ice cream on main street, for example, don't wait until 1:30-2 AM, because you might get skunked! I was told that everything would be open about 20 min past park closing, but that turned out not to be true, and we ended up with ice cream sandwiches from the hotel snack shop - not the same thing!

That's correct -- 2 a.m. We had no intentions of staying up so late, but on a very hot day in August, our family of five returned to the resort to nap from 4 to 6 pm. We returned to the Magic Kingdom refreshed around 7:30 p.m.

It was one of the least crowded EMH's we've attended and my five year-old stayed awake until the very end. After ten pm, we rode everything with a walk-on. The weather was cooler than during the day, the crowds were light, most everything was open making the evening very enjoyable. The only downside was that my youngest son and I got absolutely soaked on Splash Mountain at 1:45 a.m.!

We didn't schedule anything for the following day, so were able to sleep-in and enjoy some time at the pool and downtown disney.
