you can download those and make them fit on a dvd .. some fanmade marni compilation dvd's could be nice  (not sold .. only for download ..)

Well, see, that makes it just a little more complicated, for those of us (1) on dial-up, and (2) without DVD burners. I do like the DVDs with the nice, big, clear picture to watch on TV (at least until I get a DVD burner to get computer stuff over to my TV, but even then would not necessarily have time to transfer it all). So, there is some value to buying a DVD for some of us....

I agree. I rather purchase a well made DVD by Dave Oneal and Co. than going through all the hassle of putting these other ones on a DVD myself. I just don't have time to do that. I rather make endless posts right here on WDWMagic.

...he was recently invited by the Walt Disney Company to the Disney Studios in Burbank to have his videos put into the Disney Archives...
I remember seeing Dave Smith hanging out at the Extinct Attractions Club booth at one of the NFFC Disneyanna Shows, and some time later a picture of Smith and ONeal together at that show appeared on their site. I don't know about copyright infringement, but I thought that was pretty cool that Dave Smith seemed to be a fan.

The EA Club basically solicits people's home video's of the various extinct attractions and edits them into the DVD's. So the quality is not always great. But the thing that is most appealing in the DVD's is the exclusive interviews this guy gets w/ people like Tony Baxter, X. Atencio, Rolly Crump, Alice Davis, Bob Gurr, and all these other heavy hitters. $15 each is not a bad deal for that. In ONeal's defense, I understand that while he does make a profit, he donates much of it to Anaheim charities.

Yep, that was my impression. And I felt the same way about the amazing live interviews. Really, I feel like he is just filling a void that Disney itself seems to miss sometimes these days: interviewing these legends on DVD extras before they all pass away (as some have recently). So, I appreciate that.

Marni, I do not understand how to use your site, especially if I wanted to get to the older archive stuff you have. How do I get to it? Is there a list? And is it fruitless without broadband?

Hi Paul,

Yes, you really need broadband or similar. Some of my vids are less than 100 meg, but most are a couple of hundred. Disney Central IRC (which has all my vids - Torrents tends just to have the newer or requested ones) is like a private file sharer. You install a program on your PC, which lets you download from the servers at Disney Central. Torrents can be easier, but the choice is more limited.

I`ve thought briefly about making them available on DVD but a) I wouldn`t really have the time it needed and b) I`m not going anywhere near Disney Legal - even not just to cover costs. I do understand why some other editors make there downloads available on disc, and having both options is a great idea for people like yourself, but I don`t agree with making money from it or not having the download option.
