Exactly.

On a side note, it seems to me people in this thread are really unhappy about having too many options. So many, they are forced to pick and choose and hate that the fact others will pick different options to meet their needs and having to deal with coveting what they have. Instead of just enjoying their own choices.

This is at the heart of the complaining.
No, it really isn't. Of course, they actually visit the parks....

I really wanted to know how this new express transportation was going to work and instead, I have to hear something that is about a few and no has posted about the their experience with express. Can we get back to the topic that the thread was meant for?

The thread will get back on track once there is some news. Threads commonly go off the rails when there is no news to report.

So, no one answered my question about how much WDW spent on exclusive bus lanes or the bus schedule monitors.

As far as the installation of the bus monitors, I saw today that Pop Century, a value resort even had one now. So, WDW has invested in a monitoring system of knowing where all their buses are at all times. And even the commoners in the low rent district benefit from it.

And those new-ish three axle buses... when did WDW invest in them so as to improve bus service? How much did they cost?

Anyway... rode the bus from Pop to Epcot today, no problems. I took a super-reliable alternative transportation system from Epcot to DHS that got me there in just under 20 minutes... my feet. A pleasant walk. Took the bus from DHS back to Pop no problems.

Saw the Express Bus station in DHS. It's right in between RnRC and Sunset Showcase.

Because I used it both as transportation while staying and to park hop or whatever other need I had on occasion, I even went for an interview to be a driver, but, at the time I couldn't move to Florida. I also talked with a couple dozen drivers, saw the "paddle" (busing name for schedule for stops and locations and times.) And I worked in the business for a large number of years. I know how the transit systems work. They are for mass transit, not individual transit. They systems cannot be built around the wants of one person at any given time. I know enough about how they are supposed to work that I don't use them regularly because it is quicker have a car available and no waiting for anything is involved. I know why they instituted the pay for service and it isn't because the system isn't good enough to work, it's that people have become so whiny and entitled that they expect the world to roll over and play dead so that they won't be inconvenienced. I'm glad they did that "extra" because maybe now we won't have t listen to how incompetent the system is. Now we can listen to the whining about how they have to pay for it when it used to be free. Problem is, it still is free as the system that is supposed to work as mass transit, all one had to do is use it. You want extra, you get to pay for it. Kind of like life!

I guess $500 a night for deluxe accomodations isn't paying enough in your humble opinion... Between this thread and the monorail thread where you stated you never even noticed the colored stripe down the entire length of the trains, you've been on a roll lately. At the very least, you are indeed entertaining.

Sounds like all of Disney's bus problems have been fixed then. Thanks for the report.

Having the local government build express lanes to their new mall doesn't scream customer service as much a desire to get folks to their new mall.

They added a few larger articulated busses in 2013, but the additions have been insufficient to keep up with demand.

No, it doesn't have to be enough. They still can get there by using what has already been in place for years and years. Transportation is included. Now if you think you are entitled to individual transportation at your whim, then you pay extra for that. What the hell makes everyone think that any venue revolves around them personally. I know this is an entitled society now, but, good god, get a grip. They have offered and additional service with an additional charge attached and all you can do is think it ought to be free. And, oh yea, let's not get entitled to the point when a person foolish enough to spend $500.00 for 4 walls and a bed should be more entitled then someone that stays in value resorts or offsite. What they are paying for is the accommodations not the rest.

What a foolish statement concerning the strip on the monorail. I didn't then and I still don't see the significance of the color of the strip. It's a damn monorail not a magical color ship that once carried someone famous. They could run Monorail Gold today, take it back to the shop and paint it over as Green and it is still the same monorail train. The colors have absolutely no significance anymore then as a substitute for a name or number and really other then the terminally obsessed who the hell cares. It may be how Disney identifies the trains, but, if you can come up with one single reason why we need to know, I'll be glad to listen. We need to know three things. Which train is going to and from Epcot, which ones are the Express to MK and which ones are the resort monorails. The color doesn't tell you any of that. It just happens to be whatever color is on the rail that day. Another question... so we know what train is not in service? Why do we need to know that? I helps those that care what one isn't in service to the rest of us and, I might add, with the same results all we need to know is a train is being rebuilt in the barn or they put a rebuilt monorail back in service. Again what difference does it make what the color is. I'm glad I am entertainment for you. The obsession of the rest of you keep me amused as well.

And that's great, but there is going to be a certain amount of frustration when those improvements have not started to impact the system and in the interim allow people the privilege of paying to get around it.
It's not going to change anything. It will not magically levitate a bus over traffic or past an accident or multiple handicapped pickups that delay ground transportation. The bus location monitors will, however, and this is the only reason for it, let people know where the next bus is in relation to where they are and perhaps give a better ballpark idea about when it will arrive. It is information only. It doesn't perform any magic or clear out delays that naturally occur. In short, as long as there is a distance between parks (and I don't see them being able to push them closer together any time soon) this is a problem that will always be there. Not a problem at Universal or Disneyland Resort. Everything is in one place at the moment.

For years now everyone has had only two options. Take the buses between parks and more then likely have to wait for a bus or bring a car and take yourself. Now they have given you a third option to "possibly" make the situation better for some that can afford it. It is a good, albeit expensive, perk that didn't exist before. Logistically, it isn't possible to make it a free perk to everyone because it would then become what we already had. Think past the righteous indignation.

Ok - I know they have gone back and forth on this - but do they currently have park to park buses or do you still need to re-route through a resort? I hardly see it as an "elitist" mentality to expect, if I am PAYING for a park hopper, to be able to actually HOP directly to another park without having to pay an additional fee. I understand using the regular buses would not bypass security but the option should at least be there.

Haven't there always been park to park buses???

I know for a fact I took a bus from Hollywood Studios to MK and from Epcot to Animal Kingdom before.
