Exploring on site outside of parks

Hi, we are avid Disney vacationers and always stay on site. Due to time and logistical reasons, for the first time we will be staying off site, however walking distance to Downtown disney. We have ADR,s at downtown, boardwalk and Califonia Grill :) . We would like to explore around on-site, bus and mono-rail rides but no parks.

Is there are any Must See- Must Do's outside of the parks ?? Certain hotels, walks, shops , snacks only offered at a certain hotel..

cheers

What a fun idea-DH and I do this every trip. While likely an unexpected tip, I highly recommend visiting Coronado Springs and eating there (QS or TS) and then exploring the shop, grounds and walk ways after. Beautiful. Same with any delux honestly-AKL, Boardwalk, Grand Floridian are all gorgeous and have a bit to do. Have fun!!

Wilderness Lodge - even just seeing the lobby is an experience if you've never been. Artist Point is a nice dinner although pricey. You can rent the single-person mini boats and go around the lake which is a blast.
Fort Wilderness - Hoop-dee-doo Revue is a great live show with an all you can eat dinner. The resort also has horseback riding, the mini boats like the Lodge, and a ranch to see/pet horses and stuff. Big fan of the Fort and could go on and on.

I would hit the lodge first, explore, take the disney boat across the lake to the Fort, rent the mini boats, then get dinner and take in the Revue at the show. would be a fun afternoon/evening

Thanks..funny you mentioned Artist Point, my daughter was the one that selected that for an ADR. Does look a little pricey but also yummy :)

My girlfriend and I love resort hopping. Our absolute musts are the Grand Floridian and the Poly, but I also really loved walking around both Port Orleans resorts. The best part about the resort hopping is finding a nice quiet place and getting to just hang out and talk. Or get a drink at the bar. Both are good.

I agree with you! I hit GF, Poly, AKL and WL last year it was fun and relaxing. Also, I like to try the items the resorts are "known" for IE, Zebra domes at the AKL.
