Explicit photos of damaged HM brick wall

When it opened and into the 1990's they didn't even staff a CM out at those entry gates. You handed them your E Ticket up on the front porch before you went into the entry lobby to wait for a stretch room to open.

Here's the Haunted Mansion just after it opened in 1970. Not a stroller in sight, not even a CM in sight. You just walked in. And take a look at how short the mini skirts had gotten by '70 on the young lady in purple.

That's a tunic, not a mini dress. She has on slacks. Even though, I had some mini's almost that short in the 90's.

I think you are actually right. There was a slim planter there with generic shrubbery, behind a cement curb that did nothing for the theme. But at least it was a decent trip hazard.

Here's the exit in 1963 with the shrubs and curb.

And the random sign plopped there says "ALL MOTORIZED VEHICLES ARE RESTRICTED FROM ENTERING INDIAN VILLAGE." Why would it be okay to leave a theme-killing sign out like that for anyone to see in 1963? Because, Walt! Walt cared even less than Chapek!

Here's the brick wall in November, 1963. They had built that mansion the year before, but abandoned the concept as a walk-thru while they worked on all the World's Fair pavilions for big corporate sponsors. The wall was not exactly pristine in the mid 1960's.

Wow, it looks like an actual house and yard.

With this lingering impression of the deceased planter, it appears the Mansion now has 1000 ghosts.
I find it funny that they removed the planter to widen the pathway and remove obstacles then they put a garbage can at the end as an obstacle. Reminds me of Caltrans spending billions to add a carpool lane and then end it abruptly right where the bottleneck started to begin with.

was this area just widened to be used for stroller purpose only?

It looks like it. It seems like most of these widening projects just add more parking for strollers and not actual space. Frickin Disney.

Well wouldn't getting strollers out of the main pathways actually provide more walking space? I think it does...

But I don't think that the widening projects are officially to make more room for stroller parking. I think that is just guests taking their own liberties with the extra space.
