Expedition EVERST yeti

Four points:

1. Like Steve and the others have said, no opening date is set for the ride. Odds are in favor of a grand opening around April 22, with soft openings a month or so before.

2. The testing for the coaster portion of the ride could be done in six weeks or so. However, due to the complex interactions between the coaster and the other elements of the attraction, testing will likely occur for 4-6 months.

3. Yes...yeti concept art is around...just not on the web to my knowledge. He looks amazing.

4. MiCkEyROCKSxalp...why have you stolen my avatar? :fork: Uncool.

Please read the information either in this thread or at www.wdwmagic.com. This has been answered at least 5 times today alone.

He looks amazing, but doesn't work for **** right now, although I have heard that his arm motion is much more fluent in recent weeks (Note: he's to big for compliance)... He is still sitting in the simulation building which originally housed the mock up starspeeder for Star Tours and used for Indy programming. If all goes well, he is going to be disassembled, placed in boxes and shipped to the Everest Site very soon. There, he will be installed piece by piece inside the Mountain next to a cheery picker that will be left inside the mountain for maintence of him.

Lee, can you be a little descriptive of the yeti? I mean we're sure to see him before the ride opens anyway. ;) ;) And how will it not frighten kids but still shock adults? Dosen't Disney seem to have a "can't be scary for kids" attitude lately?

The way I saw him, he didn't look really scary...more like oooohhhh a Yeti!

He's big. Grayish-brown. Kinda angry looking. I think Rohde described him better in the interviews from May.

Scary for kids...maybe, but I doubt kids old enough to meet the height requirement will be overly freaked out.

Let's just hope nobody complains that he's too angry looking. I mean I wouldn't want him to be replaced by Stitch.
