I've been wondering about this ride as well...Is it gonna have loops, and big drops, kind of like (Dueling Dragons, RnRC) or is it going to be similar to Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I read on another post it is belived to be similar to thunder mountain. No loops, but it will go forwards and backwards. Like a runaway mine train or something. :)

I know I am in the minority, but rides designed that require barf bags just aren't what I go to a park for. Please tell me that right next to the new ride they are putting in a snack shop that serves a 'greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ash tray'.

Give me a ride with positive "g's" and little air time, the wind in my face, and good themes and I am happy.

Expedition Everest is a modern version of Disneyland's Matterhorn. It will reach a top speed of about 65-70 mph on a giant drop. It also reverses for part of the ride.

I thought I read somewhere that it will be controlled by LIM's to allow for the ride to slow down at key scenes and then speed up afterwords, but I could be mistaken.

i heard that it wont be that fast, somewhere around 55-60 mph...

( guess that is fast if your comparing it to space mountain instead of top thrill dragster)

also i heard it does use lims to go through some scenes inside the mountain, similar to mummy at universal...

Just for the record:

Anyways... while I like BTM, I hope its a bit smoother... while I wouldn't mind loops, I do hope theres some cool effects... Anyone can make a roller coaster...

I am really excited for this AWESOME ride ! It will be a classic Disney moutain with some DL Indy thrown into it. The facts that we know now are.....
-Roller Coaster that goes both forward and backward
-goes between 40-60 miles per hour
-a large advance audio-animotronic will in the ride
-several show scenes will take place inside the mountain
-the track will go both inside in outside
-thd mountain will be surrounded by an additional town
-the ride is a custom job by Vekoma
-heavy themeing will be in the ride
- a lot of special effects take place

Oh guillable kids, I am pretty sure the posted air bag pic is purely a joke, and why would it be Yeti AIRways? This is a train not an airplane. This is not going to be an intense ride that would call for such a provision.

im not sure where your all getting your information from, but this is straight from disney:

Max Drop Height - 80 feet, Lift Hill: 112 feet, Max Speed: 50 mph.

it will be the biggest ride in WDW and cost around $100 million

so its not going 65 mph and wont have a 200 ft. drop..

even though some of you will be upset with this info, dont be. this could be good news. 50 isnt too fast or too slow, its enjoyable. in order for some to focus on some scary scenes in the mountain, it needs to go this speed sometimes. (keep in mind this is the max speed)

i have gathered that it will have a lift chain and a drop on the side of the mountain, have some LIM boosters and some breaks to show the scenes.

one particular scene is when you encounter the enourmous beast. Lims shoot you out of this cave to make it seem like the beast is chasing you, similar to how the dinosaur is supposively chasing you in Dinosaur.

this ride looks really promising and will be the new star attraction at AK and possibly some favorites in all of WDW.
