News Expedition Everest refurbishment in 2022

Does anyone have a link to the long post explaining what is broken with the Yeti? I know multiple sources have said the yeti has actually been removed twice.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they at least cleaned up the hair bands and fixed the bare minimum of show effects. You don’t close a ride for 4 months, seemingly even longer, and ONLY fix the control system.

I’m disappointed in myself for having any expectations from Disney.

I'm also noticing a pattern of opening attractions "ahead of schedule" resulting in consistent unreliability over the last few years...

I’ve managed to ride EE 4x since it reopened, so I guess we’ve been lucky?

I waited in Standby like a real man.

Tried Genie+ one day. Too much damn stress. I can wait with the poors. I just BMO caviar.

Single rider is our friend for EE these days, unless it's our one "ride this as a family" ride.

Since the Yeti is the core attraction within the Expedition Everest attraction, I suggest periodic sightings of a Walk Around Yeti character around the Expedition Everest attraction area. Can't hurt!

Although not currently keen on bringing a child into this cruel world, he is keeping his options open to continue the family line, so no, not at this time.

The core attraction of Expedition Everest is that it's a roller coaster. If you meet the yeti then that defeats the purpose of the ride's narrative of the yeti not wanting you around.

As in, since it reopened from refurbishment? Because immediately after opening the top looked as filthy as ever, just with less hair ties.

Correct. Hair ties were at least cleaned up. Beyond that, it didn’t look much different based on the picture that was sent to me (which just happened to be at the top ).

I’m calling it guys, the extended downtimes are because they’re fixing the yeti! It makes perfect sense! It’s definitely going to happen this time! Definitely…

I swear to God if it's acting up in two weeks when I'm at AK...I missed out in February because it was down for maintenance. UGH!

I wonder if they have cancelled more Nemo shows to compensate for this attraction's downtime. That logic would only make sense at Disney World.
