I was at WDW in June and we rode Everest 5 times while we were there over the 5 days we were there, on every ride, the Yeti was not working which really irritated me, and the bird wasnt working either.

TDO has definitely perfected the art of "minusing" their attractions, with EE being a prime example. Who wants to take bets as to which will be fixed first, the Yeti or the descent in Spaceship Earth? :p

I really hope they fix the yeti, because when I rode EE with my friends this March, nobody saw it the first time because they didn't know where to look! If the yeti actually came at you, it would probably be one of my favorite attractions, but right now it's a little anti-climactic. Don't get me wrong, I love the ride, but only for the reason that it's a great coaster, not a great overall experience.

Exactly. Walt was always concerned with one piece of trash on the ground, one piece of graffiti on the walls, one thing looking wrong ... because he knew that human nature leads one to follow. If one idiot spits his gum on the ground and you leave it, the next day you probably will have 23 more (see WDW pavement/walkways today).

Some people are OK with that. I had a friend once who used to justify filthy WDW carpet in the resorts by saying ''I never look down'' ... that's fine for many folks. Not for me ... I expect and I DEMAND that I get what I pay for and the product that is marketed to me.

It is VERY misleading that the ads for EE STILL show the working yeti

Not sure if its still visible, but 95% of the comments were praising the ride and said nothing about the yeti one way or another.

Which ads? This?

No yeti.

The bilboards?

No yeti.

The only thing showing the working yeti is the "Making of" special that still airs (as filler).

The vacation planning video also contains Yeti footage, and they're still airing the Animal Kingdom special on the Travel Channel that spends a solid 10+ minutes talking about the Yeti, showing it in action, and interviewing Joe Rohde about its development. In fact, when we watched the 2013 (yes, 2013) vacation video with the kids, they got sick of hearing us say, "Ignore that effect, you won't see that. And those other three things have been completely re-themed since this was shot. Oh that attraction too, that one will be under refurbishment when we're there. No, they're not done building that one yet..."

When I was first planning my Disney vacation the video I posted the link to above got me so excited. Even my Grandma thought how amazing it looked. It's seriously misleading for people who think they will be seeing what is shown to get there and see it isn't like that at all
