That picture is AMAZING Steve! I love how far it's come along and how it lights up from the inside in that picture. Thanks for another one of the greatest shots found anywhere on the internet for EE.

That's a great picture!

Does that mean the exterior of the mountain is still mostly unfinished? Is that a massive hole in the middle to let the light out? I thought they had completed the exterior (without painting).

I believe the rebar and wire mesh has been completed for the exterior. It is still transparent because they haven't sprayed on the concrete yet.

Thanx.
Spray on concrete??? Sounds strange. But makes sense when you think about it - incredibly large surface area to cover and must be durable. Hmmm.....

Speaking of Everest after dark, I wonder if DAK's hours will be extended so that EE will be available for riding after dark. I'm sure it's probably better to ride at night than it is during the day (ala BTMRR)

I don't know if one ride will be justification for keeping the entire park open longer. Maybe this has been discussed before?

I suspect that the answer is yes.

Dinoland can easily stay open late. Everything is well lit, and there aren't many animals around. It's also the land with the most attractions.

Since Discovery Island connects everything to everything, it has to be open. But that's not a problem since it has all of the shops and stuff in it too. TTBAB can also run at night w/o any problems.

Asia can also stay open late. I suspect that only Kali and EE would be open, since the bird show and the jungle trek aren't open at night.

I imagine Camp Minnie Mickey and Africa would probably be either quiet (open but nothing is running), or roped off.

Still, that could be a decent lineup for an E-Ride night. They could easily run all but one of the major rides, plus some smaller rides and shows.

That is how it is done. Either concrete or some other material with similar properties with concrete. Isn't it afterwards though that the workers have to do a lot of carving to get the shape to show? Anyway, this technique is used for movies too on sets as most Disney park building techniques came from the movies.

That's what I thought too until someone posted the picture of the inside of Everest with the deatiled rock work complete. I sorta wonder if what we are seeing is just the back of that and the exterior isn't really up yet.

Parts of the exterior are done, along with parts of the interior. It all depends on what angle it is viewed at. A lot of the completed rockwork is not visible from guest areas.

On peak season nights (such as Spring Break and Summer), AK stays open to 7pm. Combine that with the Extra Magic Hour, and on some nights, it is opened until 10pm. Attractions that are open during the Evening Extra Magic Hours are The Boneyard[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

Dinosaur[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

Festival of the Lion King[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

It has been even longer this Easter. AK ran from 8am to 8pm, and when using EMH, 8am to 11pm. :D

I just realized that besides the fact that there working on it in the day time, there also working on it at nightime(guessing by the pic at night) to which is very very good.

Not really. Most of the lights you can see are security lights that remain on after the majority of the workers leave at around 5-6pm each night. :)
