Expand Peter Pan's Flight!!!

Peter Pan's Flight doesn't need to be expanded, just cleaned up with new effects added.

And as you mention Philharmagic, there's an attraction that could be expanded. A new sequence based on another Disney classic would be great. Adding it shouldn't be terribly difficult, and such a sequence could be removed during busier times when capacity becomes an issue.

I entirely agree. In fact, I'd go a step or three further. Create scenes from another 3 or 4 classics, and put a little randomization into the sequencing, so you don't know exactly which scense you'll see. Some of the transitions (e.g., Fantasia into Little Mermaid) can't really be changed, but others certainly could be.

Eh....
The Peter Pan ride became irrelevant to me when Uni gave us the ET Adventure. Same concept, done way better.
(Like how MiB totally makes Buzz look like a waste of time.)

Huge thumbs up for this. I will ride ET over PP any day.

Very true. If they could redo Peter Pan to the level that ET Adventure is at, it would be quite a ride.

Ok I know WDW purists would want to kill me for this, but I say expand Peter Pan's Flight. Get rid of Mickeys Philhar Magic and expand Peter Pan into that show building as well. I love Philhar, but come on PP needs this so bad and it could def. work. It could double the capacity of PP and also give a chance for a refurb and extending the ride and adding new show scenes. It could also have a new exit closer over to the Carousel, so it would help with the capacity issue by the skyway building as well. I feel like this would be so incredible! Any thoughts anybody?

You lose me when you say get rid of PhilharMagic. I love that show, because it's more Disney than just about anything else in the Magic Kingdom. It really captures the joy and enchantment that Disney means to many people. No way I'd want that to go.

However, I agree that Peter Pan's Flight should be the next project in the FLE expansion. It's a VERY popular ride, but it does look very dated (I'm aware that some people like that, but let's put that aside for a moment). I think that with the proper investment and invention, it could equal The Forbidden Journey at Universal. Imagine flying over London, zipping past Big Ben (and hearing it chime thunderously as you pass it by), then heading towards the second star to the right...then the night sky blooms into early morning and you see Neverland before you. Then you fly by AAs with Peter and Hook fighting and pirate ships and so on, then you head back to London and through the nursery window, where you see Peter Pan bidding Wendy goodbye, and then you exit the ride. It could be AWESOME. I'd love to see that happen. I think Walt and company did the best they could with Peter Pan's Flight given the technology available to them (and that's the reason it's held up so well), but I think a major plussing is in order. Maybe some original ride elements could be kept in the new version (definitely keep the pirate ship ride vehicles and the overhead suspension, for instance, and even the original scenes - spruced up a bit - in the ride's beginning), before you hurtle into the newer effects. Anyway, I hope that part of your idea comes to pass. I think it would be a huge success. :)

If it was up to me, I'd gut the whole thing and start over. As far as I'm concerned, the ride is not sacred, there are better and more modern ways to tell the story and capture the magic. This ride needs a fresh start if its going to survive the 21st century.

Lately I'm starting to wonder if your posts are serious. I'm beginning to assume they aren't.

Besides, I like PhilharMagic.
Everyone does. It's an enormously successful attraction that gets extremely high satisfaction ratings. Getting rid of an attraction that gets a lot of people and leaves most of them happy, especially one with no height restriction and relatively low staff and maintenance demands, would be insanity.

If one person doesn't like Philhar, that doesn't mean getting rid of it would make sense.

I've never seen a queue line either! I always chuckle when Pooh gives out bonus FPs for it... you can walk right in!
Not sure if you're serious, but queue lines are a poor assessment of popularity because capacities vary wildly from attraction to attraction.

gotta tell you this is the stupidest idea ive seen on this site:brick:... if magic kingdom is gonna do anything else in the next 5 years with all this FLE stuff going on they need to re-theme Stiches Great Escape (even though i am a fan). more importantly Disney world needs to save DHS first

I think that ride is a testament to the timeless ideals set forth by Uncle Walt. It looks, sounds and is as transporting today as the day it was opened-this ride is reminder of the attention to detail, and the dedication to preservation Disney is famous for. The line could be made better, it might be updated or added to but it would have to be handled by the most talented of imagineers- as I'm sure it would.:D

In a *perfect* world: (as if this would ever happen)

1. Remove PPF from Fantasyland alltogether
2. Add new section to MK called Never-Never Land
3. Re-add PPF to the NNL section with updated effects, animatronics, while still keeping all the elements that we love of the original version.
4. Have other attractions in NNL as well such as a Skull Rock play area, Lost Boys treehouse area, pirate ship...I know this is just dreaming, but roll with it. :)

And the most important part: Use the former space in FantasyLand where PPF used to sit and...BRING BACK TOAD HALL!!

I like this plan! :D

Neverland is hugely underrepresented in WDW IMO.

What if they moved PP to adventureland next to pirates and then they could build skull rock/mountain and it could be the main attration of a pirate land. Then put in a dark pinnochio ride in PP. I know it's dreaming, but whatever

What if they built something entirely original and left PP alone or updated it within its existing footprint?

I do love Peter Pan but I would be heartbroken if they got rid of Philharmagic !!

It is one of my favorites .... I feel so totally immersed and caught up in the beautiful music and often have to be hushed by my husband and son because I just can't help but sing along with Jasmine and Ariel !!! :ROFLOL:
