Excited yet a little bummed...just had to vent a little :(

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
First off let me say I know i am very blessed to be going to the world in a few days for 8 nights!!!! The bummed aspect is that the most recent weather forcast is not so great for the whole trip with alot of rain off and on. I picked Dec. for us because it was known to have the least amount of rain in the year and it would be decked out for the holidays, which is something me and DH have never been able to experience yet. The initial dissapointment started when we found out there would be no "Twas the night before Christmas" at MVMCP , and no longer the Lights of Winter in Epcot that we have never seen either. Then now this, and im battling a cold as we speak so wet weather will not be the best for me but hey Im not going to cancel the trip for a little cold lol. I know things could be alot worse as in not being able to go like a fellow member on here due to being pregnant and having the flu (poor thing!!!!) but that dosent make it any less upseting that the trip we been planning for almost a year might be wet lol...Good note it isnt supposed to be chilly except for a few days so thats worth smiling for. Cold and wet do not mix lol. Anywho for all of you that will be there at the same time lets keep praying and keep our fingers crossed for as little rain as possible!! Sorry if this was a silly ramble to some of you but I just had to vent!! :xmas: And yes i know how unpredictable weather can be i live where it can change in 5 min in South Louisiana so hey it may be different come tommmorow lol ;)

Most of the precipitation percentages for your week are in the 10% to 30% range, which means very little chance of rain, and if then, most likely, just a brief shower.

I only see Friday 12/4 with a 70% chance.

I'll cross my fingers for ya. Don't get too bummed yet. The Florida weather changes super-fast like what you're used to. They could forecast rain & cold for the next day and it end up warm & dry. That's happened to us a lot while at WDW. I always take the 10 day forecasts with a grain of salt because the unpredictable weather down there is tough for even the local meteorologists to call. Trust me. I grew up in the Orlando Metro area.

And hey-howdy-hey to the South Louisiana peeps! We lived in Kenner, LaPlace, Covington, & Pine over a span of about 11 years. Loved Southeast Louisiana. Would love to live there again. Wish the work was there & the insurance wasn't so brutal. We'd be running back as fast as we could. Take care & have a great trip!

I hope your cold gets over quickly! Try and rest and not worry too much about the weather. I have gone before thinking it was going to rain for most of my trip also. I ran out to Target and bought some of the 99 cent rain ponchos to keep in my backpack. I ended up only using them for Kali River Rapids. :D I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I would not worry one bit, i spent 3 weeks in the world in july and not one day did the forecast not include rain, everyday was above 50%, in the end we had rain 3 days, one hour long storm and 2 short mid afternoon showers so dnt worry and enjoy, shed a thought 4 me im back from 6 days at DLRP and it rained 4 out of 6 days :hammer:

Hello Fellow Louisiana Peeps!

I was feeling the same way about the rain chances, planning, etc. I am from South Louisiana too and know how fast rain can come and go. I agree with one of the posters who said the crowds will be light. I'm sure they will be, so let's just go and have a great time and get wet while trying!

I hope you get over your cold and I hope the rain chances go down. I'm crossing my fingers and praying as well!!!

Have a Magical Day!!

Check weather.com and accuweather.com

I find that the local TV stations have the best forecast reliability. Weather.com is consistently wrong and Accuweather usually changes way too much outside the 7 day forecast. Ignore any forecast beyond 7 days!

Google "orlando tv stations" and check the local forecasts. Wesh.com and local6.com are my favorites.

Hang in there OP - they have a low pressure coming but they were only forecasting a day or two of rain. Any chance of 40% or less means there will be alot of no rain periods that day. It can't rain as much as it did for me the week before Memorial Day when Central Florida had record breaking rainfall amounts all week!

We get there the same day and I'm glad I had my annual December cold last week because it means I'm super healthy for Disney  But I'm not too worried about the rain - hopefully if it does rain it'll help thin crowds out even more :xmas:

We're in the same boat, arriving on Thursday. All I know is that whatever the weather is, it'll be nicer than Maine. I'm just going to pick up a few rain ponchos before we leave. The only part that bums me out a little is that if it does rain on Friday, that was our planned Fantasmic day and it may be cancelled. Other than that, it will keep the crowds down. No worries!

If I may offer my opinion, which should be taken as seriously as anything else you read on the internet :ROFLOL:, one of the best nights that my hubby and I ever had at Disney was during a TORRENTIAL downpour during a bout with Hurricane Wilma. It poured and poured, but we just tossed on our old shoes and ran with it. It is still one of our most favorite Disney memories and one of our favorite memories period:wave:

I think that life may be all about making the most fun out of what you've got, but that's just my opinion.

I hope that you have a great trip and that you feel much better before your trip!!!:D

I was watching the local news here last night and the only rain I noticed them mention was for tonight when a cool front comes in. It should be clearing out tommorrow some time (depending on the speed of this system) It really doesn't rain too much here and I wouldn't count on too much rain in a 8 day trip.

You can never tell with the weather:( The forcast was great right up until we got there last month. Then Ida made it cold and drizzly. One day it didn't even make 60.

Ok, here's an update. I watched the news this morning, the cold front is coming through tomorrow (friday)...there's 80% chance of rain, but after that it should clear out for the rest of your trip. :) the weather should be perfect....sorry i thought it would have cleared out this morning for you and been done!
