Excavator Coaster Coming to Dinoland U.S.A.?

Well, all I can say is that Dino-Rama is toast in almost every rumor I've heard for that plot of land.

As far as Indy... still no one really confirming anything. But an Indy coaster could be a compelling 2nd attraction for an Indy Land if done right, unlike that thing in Paris.
Unfortunately, that thing in Paris is most likely what we would get... they built a second one in Tokyo...I am sure they could build a third one. and it is the shortest coaster... like 30 seconds long...

When people say "rethemed" does everyone think Dinosaurs will no longer be the theme or could it just be rethemed to dinosaurs but not chester and hesters? meaning the route 66 dino carnival theme could be replaced with a different dino type theme?
The plan is to eliminate the Dino land and replace it with an Indiana Jones land, probably themed to South America.

I was summoned from regions beyond ... I can't add anything beyond what I already have. There is a plan (there are always lots of plans, so don't jump to conclusions) to remove Dinorama (NOT Dinoland, not Dinosaur) and add a major coaster attraction based on a prior concept that was not used. That is the only plan I have heard for DAK's future, beyond transportation improvements.

The only reason I won't laugh off the Indy rumour on this site is because it sounds like the kind of insanity that Bob Chapek is known for. I still think the chances of that happening are, thankfully, very, very, very small.

Is there any possibility that the "major coaster attraction based on a prior concept that was not used" could be a variation on Dragon Tower from Beastly Kingdom? Maybe this is a stretch, but I would much rather have that than the Excavator. Besides, dragons are sort of like dinosaurs with wings (I know, I know, it's not that simple). Any hints of this sort of thing?

You need to have some sort of long-term vision or strategy. Otherwise there is nothing to tie everything together and you end up with a mishmash of ideas.

Absolutely, which I also wrote. The fact that ideas are thrown around to see what sticks doesn't exclude a long-term vision or strategy from guiding which ideas are generated. The question is, of course, how solid that vision or strategy is. I'm just saying that there inherently isn't anything with the process of wide idea exploration to see what sticks. Which is what was criticized...

Toy story land and Star Wars land doesn't seem like a mishmash of ideas inside Disney Hollywo
I don't see any real strategy in what they are doing. There is no internal logic connecting TSL to SW:GE to Hollywood Boulevard etc. It's just a random collection of stuff. If they had gone the route of themeing the areas to the different studios of the Company as I have proposed here countless times I would agree with you.

As for DHS...
It looks fun...it looks 1000 times better then the park was. when the dust settles and we all get to walk through the park... that's when we will know. There are many that scream out IP like it's a bad thing.
In the right hands it's a great thing and so far Disney hasn't let me down with Cars land, new fantasyland, Pandora. It doesn't look like they are dropping the ball with Star Wars.

I for one think it all fits just fine in DHS.

If the excavation coaster concept for AK from 1998 makes a comeback, it will blend in just fine in Dinoland.

They aren't doin Indy in Dinoland. That won't happen.

Was The Good Dinosaur so disappointing, financially and critically, that no one is really asking for a dark ride? I haven't seen it, so I'm genuinely curious. I'm going to assume it's not likely to happen, but would it have had the potential to be worthy of a dark ride, i.e. adequate characters, scenery, songs? Surely they would have considered it, synergy and all

It's the worst Pixar movie, in my honest opinion.

It was a cute movie, but that's about it. Although a Good Dinosaur attraction wouldn't really fit in Dinoland anyway since it is set in present day. Unless of course they did another "journey back in time" storyline.

It turly was awful. Forgettable plot, characters that were not likeable, no music, etc. The only saving grace was the beautiful backgrounds. It was kind of the worst.
