Anyone think EE will go down for an extensive refurb once Pandora opens. It seems that many people hope that but was curious if anyone has heard any realistic rumors or news. (cough....not from a bus driver...cough)

I like what your saying, not sure they will though .i wish they would spend the money kicking Chevrolet out of test track.lol,Disney need to start updating MK big time ,add 4 k space adventure to mission space.put tron in place of Indy 500,make universe of energy become the best Dino animatronics there is .and add a really fun 3d film in where honey I shrunk used to be.what u think

I would imagine that any EE refurb that includes returning the Yeti to its animated state would be a very lengthy refurb, so I would imagine that Disney may want to wait until the initial influx of people into Pandora decreases to start a refurb like that. Closing a popular attraction like EE should require the rest of the attractions in the park to pick up the slack, and the number one option for alot of people may be to head to the newest attractions first, instead of the older ones they have experienced many times before. Just my theory.

Disney seem quite aware of what the competition are up to in Orlando these days...with that in mind I'd probably more expect an overhaul of Kali (be it just thematic). They'll be well aware that as of next year they'll have the worst raft ride in Orlando.

Maybe they'll have their attention elsewhere in the park.

Just sayin'
Your somewhat cryptic posts like this are always great; they really make you think. Hmmmmm....I might have an idea of what you may be talking about, but I have to keep it to myself in case I am dead wrong lol.

@marni1971, any truth to this?: I saw a video that said the Yeti is installed directly onto one of the structural beams - therefore it's force during any movement and weight basically compromises the actual (entire) structure, which is why it was turned off. So to fix the disco Yeti to it's original state, it would require substantial reinforcement or removal and replacement of beams and such?

I think it was announced yesterday (or maybe the day before) that a ton of DAK attractions are going to be undergoing refurb throughout May, seemingly to refresh everything ahead of Pandora opening. Everest wasn't one of those but, there certainly seems to be a desire to make the park feel "new" again as a result of all the attention it is getting. I'd say that alone bodes well for it getting a once over but, I doubt it would be so substantial as to fix what we all know is the "big" issue in that attraction that needs fixing. :D

I'll let Master Martin reply because he's the man but... thought I'd share this thread on the topic, specifically the last couple of posts. :)

funny thing is.. I know many of us who have been multiple times continue to complain about that Yeti.. but honestly it isn't costing the company money(by making people not come to the park), and most who ride it still see a Yeti and get a thrill out of it.. as previously mentioned 10000000 times.. this is NOT a priority for a good ROI for Disney.. Disney is a business, generally businesses see a good ROI and will green light it.. if the ROI is negative or negligible then it is on the back burner like this has..

I seriously doubt we will see a Yeti repair for the ROI reasons stated, but I am nonetheless excited for the first time in ages about AK. I feel as if we are going to get some of the grandeur rumored with the beastly kingdom, and I'll finally have a reason to visit the park. I think with them upping the food game, having a night time attraction (although not my favorite), it is finally a full day park. Now I have to just sit down and watch the Avatar movie.

I wouldn't expect to see anything like this before January of 2018 realistically. With Avatarland opening they are going to need all the capacity they can get and it's going to be a while before things settle down enough that they can close something else for an extended period of time.

I don't see a repaired EE happening any time soon. How would Disney market its return? "Now With a Working Yeti!'? Unfortunately for WDW geeks, the average guest doesn't even realize something is wrong with the ride, and Disney knows this.
