Ever spoken with a rude CM at CRO?

For the most part we have always dealt with very nice CM but you had "ever" and I had to be honest. About two years ago, while waiting in line for BTMR, we were able to witness first hand a rude ride operator. There were a few asking for specific seats (front or back) and while I know that they are not obligated to meet requests there is a nicer way to say it. He to let them know that they were going to sit where he put them no if, ands or buts. He even got mad at somebody who was just standing in line with a family member but didn't want to ride. I think he needed a hug...

But the question is "Rude CMs at Central Reservations Office". Park CMs don't count.

I haven't dealt with anyone rude, just a gentleman that was totally void of any emotions, information or help. I was trying to adjust my room with the annual passholder rate when it came out for the dates of our trip this past April and his answer was, "there are none, they are all sold out for that rate...." long silence until I said "Okay..." It sat wrong with me so an hour later I called back and spoke with a woman who was so into helping me, kept me on the phone for 45 minutes and worked out a deal for 6 of the 7 nights we were booked.
I guess it all depends on who you get, either someone who is really into their job or someone who really could care less.

Agreed...I don't think it's necessarily that they are rude...it's that there are some who really love the job and you can tell it from the way they talk and there are some who are just doing it for their paycheck. They aren't rude, per se...they just aren't as helpful as someone who loves what they do. But it's like that way at all jobs, not just Disney.

Wow, I have to say, I'm very surprised. On another famous Disney message board, this same question gets asked and it's the exact opposite response. I guess that says something about the friendliness level of that board.

Earlier this year, I made reservations for 2 rooms, one for my parents and one for me. I never had any problem changing anything on either reservation (room req., dates, etc.). But one day when I called to make a payment on each room, the cm asked me to verify all the info on my parents room. I gave her names, address, reservation #, and phone #. She then told me the phone # was not what she had on file and wouldn't let me make a payment. This led to a slight argument since they were my parents and I knew what their phone # was, and I gave her all the other info she asked for too. All I wanted to do was make a payment anyway. Then I heard someone say, "How's it going?", and I heard her say "This woman", when suddenly there was silence for about 30 seconds. She must have hit a mute button or something. When she came back on the phone I should have confronted her but didn't. She took my payment and hung up. I have to say, that's really the only time a cm at CRO has been rude. And believe me, I've talked to many of them. Most of them are very nice and helpful.

Yep, sure have. Although, since we joined DVC I have never had a bad CM on the phone. But they are after all just regular people. Unlike what most make them out to be on this board. They are just doing a job just like you and I and hopefully doing it to the best of their abilities. Do the right thing and file a complaint with managment and go and enjoy your vacation.

Yup! Last year I had my first & only AWFUL experience with a CM at CRO. I am super crazy about writing down names and times of my reservation calls, that they were able to go back an review my call experience since it was so bad.

Basically what happened was the first time I made my reservation for 2 rooms, the CM at CRO said I only had to make 1 deposit instead of 2. I ended up having to call back about a month later, and the CM said that I needed to pay another deposit. Since this was my first time making a reservation for 2 rooms at once, I politely asked why so I could make sure that I understood for future visits. and he said ,'Because Mickey said so. What is your card number?' It basically totally downhill from there...We still had a great trip, but it was a bad experience to start our trip.

Since then I have had nothing but spectacular experiences with CMs at CRO! I just think I caught that person at a bad time...

Mostly it has been positive except for 2 experiences:

1. Gentleman who knew very little and didn't care to find out the answers to my questions about transportation, just knew his standard spiel.

2. Very nice woman but made many mistakes: had I not been paying keen attention my ADR for a Candlelight Processional dinner package would have been on the wrong night and we would have been charged for not showing up. She booked the wrong night and I caught it when she quickly repeated everything.

But, the hold music more than makes up for it IMO!!

We've always received very good service from CRO. Many times they are very chatty, often suggesting things. And even if they can't help, they apologize and seem very sympathetic. I guess it works both ways, give them attitude you might get some back.

We have had this type of experience as well recently. The woman knew very little and my wife was actually giving her some information. My wife also had to also catch that the CRO had booked our trip for March instead of April. This was also the incident that I mentioned in another thread regarding charging us over $100 for insurance that she never mentioned nor did we ask for.

Our experience is that you should always call during the day rather than evening. These CRO's seem to care more and are more knowledgeable.

Having said that, we received our long distance bill (from Toronto to Orlando) and it is $30.00:hammer:

I had a woman hang up on me!!!! She had a thick accent and maybe the frustration I had with understanding her had something to do with it. I kept asking a question, trying to resolve an issue, and she finally said, 'I don't know! And hung up!. I actually burst out laughing, it was soooo anti-Disney. Central Reservations sure ain't what it used to be!! Some are nice, but some are not, and that never used to happen.
