I'm looking into flying to Orlando and having an RV delivered for us to use/rent to stay at Fort Wilderness. Has anyone ever done this and do you have any suggestions?
Almost did this year. For a while, our dog was looking kinda bad, and while we wanted to go, we also were worried about him. Couldn't find someone to watch him, and didn't want to burden a relative with a sick dog, and he's just miserable in a kennel. So we were getting close to doing just what you did, since some of the campsite loops allow pets. But since those talks, we changed our dog's diet and now he's been doing much much better, he's acting 5 years younger at least. I have a relative who will stay in our place & care for him, so the RV is no longer a necessity. While I'd do it if necessary, I think I'd always prefer a resort room or even renting one of their cabins.
Ive never rented..we own a trailer and have camped tons of times. It is so great, you get to come back to your little home away from home. We use to take our dogs, and rent a golf cart. Its convient. Theres a boat right from the campground to MK and of course buses to every park. I highly recommend camping!
When I was growing up my parents always had a travel trailer and we loved it. We camped a lot but never pulled it to Disney. I would think that this would have to be a fun and different way to stay at Disney. I have heard that the camping area is great.
It's funny that someone talked about watching the movie RV first. I loved that movie. I guess from camping all of those years I found it to be very funny. Not to mention that my husband would have done most of the things that Robin Williams did because he has never camped this way. My 14 year old daughter is just like the girl in the movie too, and the part where everyone is singing something different while listening to their own Ipods, that's us too. Well, my kids anyway.
