All Disney All The Time

True story: Years (and years ago) I was taking a bench break at MK while the wife took her turn standing in line with the kids for Space Mountain. A large entourage came by, led by Michael Eisner. He broke off from the group and picked up some trash, disposing of it in the nearest trashcan. I got up and went over and said, "You're picking up trash yourself?" He replied, "If I'm not willing to do it how can I expect anybody else to."

We went for a quick day trip for F&W in Oct- DH noticed Cat Cora was going to be doing a book signing that day. Although we were there in the late morning, we rushed over and I was able to get a wristband! She is my fav celeb chef and I got to meet her!

A real blow-my-mind moment at WDW...?

I have a few. Hard to pick just one..but these would be the Top Two :

First would have to be my first few visits to EPCOT Center back in the day. I was completely and utterly blown away on my first visit on July 3rd 1983. I was 11 years old ...the perfect age for that Park at that time. Yeah...i was completely awestruck by everything, exspecially the Omnimover attractions.
This is when i first rode the original JII and my life was changed forever. I knew then what i wanted to do with my life.

Next would probably be the big 25th Anniversary event us fans held back in 2007 for EPCOT. I had a hand in making that happen...so to speak...and to see what was originally a small gathering snowball into a major event was nothing short of awesome. Meeting some of the people who came to take part was also a huge thrill.

Cleanliness of the bathrooms, way back when. I told EVERYONE how clean Disney's bathrooms were.

The first time I saw Illuminations and everything lit up when they did the part with all those little white things...I thought it was about the coolest thing ever.

The fact that WDW even exists. There is no way something like that could be built today.

Think about it. You go to the shareholders and say 'what I'd like to do is buy 45 square miles of almost undevelopable swamp land, leverage the company into severe debt, terraform the land with non-native species, implement technologies that barely exist yet, dig out a lake or two that don't exist, and convince the Florida legislature to make it it's own governmental entity not beholden to the surrounding cities or county'.

You'd be ousted by the board and more than likely committed to an asylum.

I've spent days walking around Disney marveling at the management and daily engineering hurdle they face. Problems we complain about non-withstanding-it is truly a small fantastical world that 'shouldn't exist.

It's why that even with the threads on the Yeti, Disney Hyperion Wharf, rising ticket and room prices, Avatarland (sorry folks-I think it's a mistake), and the princess-ification of the Magic Kingdom, I still sigh when I arrive, go sit at my 'happy place' at the Wilderness Lodge, and sip a beer while marveling at the spectacle before me. Specifically, this happy place-

Granted, this is at dawn after I wake up, and with coffee and not beer. Although strangely enough, my happy place is situated right next to the pool bar...

I've never officially seen it at WDW (that I can remember), but I was shocked when I found out there was another entrance to DHS! I had always gone in the back way. When I saw on Google Maps that there was another one I was blown away! I did always think it was weird that DHS only had two lanes to get into the parking lot, though...

Anyone know where exactly this is? I've heard about this, but I've never had any luck locating it...

There isn't really another entrance to the park. There is just the one way into the park. There are two ways to park your car, though.

One parking entrance is off Buena Vista Drive. That's the one pretty much everyone staying on Disney property uses, as well as many people who stay off the WDW property. The other entrance is off World Drive, as you're coming into WDW. It just parks you in a different spot.

But everyone enters the park through the same turnstiles. :)

The first time I saw Captain EO was amazing. I wasn't alive to see it the first time around, so I was really excited in 2010 to see my favourite musician of all time on the big screen. I know a lot of people on here hate Captain EO and think it is dated, but no one can deny what an amazing performer he was. Watching him dance as if he's right in front of you gives me goosebumps every time and it's something which you cannot experience anywhere else!
