Evening Extra Magic Hour(s)

What are the hours for the evening emh? I have seen in several places up to 3 hrs. We will be at WDW from July 25th until August 5th, and may want to incorporate some of the evenings. However, I can't tell how much time we will have at each park. Is it 1, 2, or 3 hours? And which way for the different parks?

Usually the evening hours are 3 hours in duration but that is subject to change. The morning hours are 1...again subject to change. I visit WDW 2x a month and this is what i've experianced. CM's viewing please shed some light!?

I just got back from Disney I went July 1 through the 7. We only did the extra magic hours at night at Mgm. The park closed to the public at ten and was open till 1:00 for resort guests. I was really disappointed with the extra hours because I thought there were not going to be long lines and boy was I wrong. All the rollercoasters had 75 min. waits and it was packed. The lines for food were like 20 min long also. It could have been the time I was there (July 3) however.

no promises, but more than likely evening magic hours will always be 3 hours past closing. I think they would only reduce the amount of evening hours if the park was already open extremely late. For instance, if the MK was open to the general public until midnight, they might only keep extra mgic hours until 2 am.

on the topic of Evening EMHs... are the gates closed at closing time to resort guests? what i mean is, can I show up to a park for the first time that day after the regular closing time has already passed if i am staying at a resort? or would i have to have already been in the park (and got the wristband) before regular closing time?
