Ethics / Loopholes

I listen to said podcast here is basically how it would work: Lets assume I a single person am going to the Magic Kingdom for one day just to make things easy.

To do this you need your primary account with a linked ticket. You book three fastpasses the normal way for early in the day. You then have a 2nd profile. You don't need another account just another person with a ticket or annual pass.

I make a Splash, Space and BTM FP on my main account preferably for reasonably early in the day.

I make a SDMT, Pirates, and HM FP on a made up profile that has an old non-expiring ticket on it.

I enter the park on my own and use the three legit fastpasses. I then load the mobile website on my phone and use the change party feature to move the SDMT fastpass over to my main profile. I use that Fastpass. I then repeat the process two more times to use up the other two FPs.

Thats generally how it works. I've never tried it, too much to manage and to much work for vacation.
The change party feature with Fastpass is no longer a thing. While talking to a guest relations CM that was one of the more recent changes made to the system. Probably for that reason you just mentioned.

LOL! There's nothing like a Disney sore spot to do that to the best of us. My wife could tell you of countless rants I've went on about people who get to the bus stop JUUUUUUUST as the bus is pulling up and jump RIIIIIIGHT on in front of ALLLLLL the people that have waited WAAAAAY longer than them and set RIIIIIGHT down while those other people stand the WHHOOOOLE time. It just makes me want to follow them to Flight of Passage and RIGHT as they are about to board just jump on in front of them and say "Oh! You mean you actually WAITED this WHOLE time?!" But I digress... LOL!
I don't let them on the bus when I see that happen. I tell them they have to get in the que. Only exception is if there are only a few people in the que and I am sure all will be seated.

This is pretty much what happened. Both lanes were open and said they were open, the lady in the ticket office on our side waived us up because there was literally nobody else in her line. If anything, that should just be a gentle notice to, say, half the people in the other line that 'hey, there are 2 lines, some of you can come over here like this couple that apparently can read and process information at the same time!" but instead they got grumpy that someone got to the window faster than they did.

I was pretty steamed though- to the extent I called the group "a bunch of f-ing idiots that can't read" to their faces.

You know I have actually tried to help people out and tell them that both sides are open but it never works. They always look at my like I am crazy and keep waiting in the line. I just don't even bother anymore.

You are honestly my personal hero for that. I really wish they could come up with some kind of system to make sure that the people who wait the longest at the bus stop get a seat as opposed to the people who just show up and get on like a bunch of tacky morons. I wish they could like put a magic band post up so you could scan it and the driver would let people board in the order they scanned or something. I'm just throwing ideas out there but I wish there was some way to fix that problem. Although maybe it doesn't bother as many people as it does us.

It's called 'speaking up'! You won't be alone in fingering the guilty party(ies). The driver will side with the mob.

I feel the same way. I had a similar problem at the vet office, which is a walk-in. Most people will be honest and wait their turn, but some just walk up as they are unlocking the door and "cut" in front of everyone else. One time I went there and someone brought post-its that people put their name on and number of arrival and lined up that way. We still had a person try to jump the line, but I wasn't having any of it and said something. The person slinked on back to their place in line. However, the girl behind the counter said they don't condone the post-it method and wherever we get in line is where we get in line. To me, that attitude toward the problem could cause arguments or even fights. It is only a matter of time at the bus stop that a similar outcome happens.

Also, I have had people cutting in the fastpass lines. I had my dad and father-in-law with us this year and they don't move very fast. Some people didn't think twice of passing them in the line and splitting our party up. Most of the time, I wait to say something to them when the fathers catch up with us and the people let them through. However, I have had some say to me "too bad" and they have an expectation to cut in front of me. In that case, instead of getting into an argument and giving up my spot, I wait until the checkpoint with a cast member and don't proceed from that checkpoint until the cast member waives the dads through with us. I know it is passive-aggressive, but I am also stubborn and am not going to bow down to inconsiderate people.

See for me, if you are not standing waiting near where they bus stops to pick up guests, you are not in any sort of line. No one arriving after you has any idea what bus you are waiting for. Nor should we be expected to keep track of who was there before and after us. I'm too busy visiting with my family members to pay attention to that. As long as there is no pushing and shoving to get on the bus, I'm good. You can't jump the line when there is no line.

There are resorts that have queues at their bus stops. If waiting without one is a big challenge maybe that is where people bothered by the lack should stay.

I was taking it that the person and driver who responded to this were talking about if there is a clear line and people jump it. I am thinking that happens at the parks' bus stops, Disney Springs, and probably whichever value resorts that have a clear-defined lineup area. I know some people get upset when they see someone with a wheelchair roll up with 10 family members as the bus is pulling in. Then the disabled person and their family all get on the bus first even though they waited milliseconds and the others were waiting 20 minutes and now there is not enough seats for all that were waiting. I've seen that happen several times at bus stops at the parks this last trip and people were getting vocal about it. It wasn't about letting the disabled person on first; it was about their entourage all getting on first too.

If you are not standing where the bus picks up then your not in line. Those seated at the bus stop waiting don’t get to move to the front of those standing.

What really annoys me is that I will be standing over where you enter in a makeshift line and still people will try to come up the sides and cut in with their families. It kind of reminds me of when you are filtered into one line from a mass at HM after leaving the second dark room. At HM, I have no expectation of keeping a place in line until I am filtered, but I actually heard someone say, who was in a joined line of about 8 people (like the picture) on the side say "keep moving...push them out of the way if you have to." Now, I consider that tacky and inconsiderate.

A line just like that pushed their way between me and my young daughter once. She was really upset that the mass of humanity was moving and she couldn't get back next to me. It was quite obnoxious of them.

On our previous trip in September we had JUST missed the monorail from TTC to EPCOT but I figured no big deal because we can get right into the queue for the next train and not have to stand. We were traveling with our two kids (4 and 1 yo) and had our double stroller parked right outside the doors. After about 15 minutes of waiting a monorail arrived. Just as the doors slid open these teenage kids and their ignorant mom ran right in front of our stroller (as the mom yelled “get in before the stroller”) and took the seats in our monorail car forcing us to stand the entire ride to EPCOT. Needless to say I had some words with the mom and probably made that ride to EPCOT the most uncomfortable 20 minutes of her time at WDW. Even more gratifying some of the other people in the car started to let the mom hear it as well. Rude people drive me nuts.

I am adamant about following the rules and the limit is 6 family members. I will bend to seven if one is a child. I know your frustration of an ECV pulling up at the last second and getting on first. What grinds my gears is when they pull up when I am just about full and expect me to put people off to get them on ! And believe me it happens often these people get awfully upset when you try to reason with them about unloading the bus ! They expect " me first" service.

We just returned last night from our trip. It was the first time that my mom was in a scooter due to needing dual knee replacements. We sometimes waited for multiple buses which we certainly understood. We also only sent one family member with my mom because we didn't want to be "those people." Sometimes we took separate buses and that's okay because we are all going to the same place. I personally think that six is too many unless there are children who can't be separated from family. It's not fair to people who have been waiting or actually need to sit down on the bus. I also could not have been more impressed with our drivers! They all did an awesome job helping her on and off the bus with the scooter. Same goes for the monorail.

I think one thing to remember is that no matter what changes Disney makes people will always find a way to hack the system. This is similar to hackers in the computer world. No matter how we change our credit cards, add firewalls, malware detection etc...hackers will find their way in. Some people seem born to cheat the system. I was on a bus two days ago next to a very nice man telling me how is booked SIX fast passes for Flight of passage. I am guessing he was there for a week and somehow booked it every day and was dropping them as he didn't need them. To him, this seemed perfectly acceptable. To me, it made me feel a little angry because I had trouble getting a Flight of Passage FastPass when I booked. But unless there is a way for Disney's system to detect this, it will continue to happen. It truly can take away from someone else's vacation when people are greedy and entitled.

The truth. Some people put so much effort into the scam. Use your powers for good!
