Ok, this isn't a "UNIVERSAL" thread don't worry

Does anyone else just absolutely love this movie?
I watched it when I got home from work last night and I still get all teary-eyed at the end...Fantastic job!

HAHAHA! That is a great movie! I watched it last week. I like the original version much better than the "special edition!" It sort of disturbs me to see ET switch from looking somewhat lifelike to looking like a cartoon character! Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

I do like the new one and don't for the same reasons :lol:
I know what you mean by saying that he looks like a cartoon in some shots...but in others, I liked it.

For instance...When Elliot and ET are in the bathroom and Elliot is trying to figure out how tall ET is...THAT looks fake and cartoony...but...in the beginning when he's trying to run back to his ship...the original was just a light on wheels...in the special edition he has a "hopping" ability (like a kangaroo) which makes it more realistic.

The FIRST time??? Sheesh...I still tear up to this day...I've seen it at LEAST 20 times.

It's one of my all-time faves. (I kinda wish they would've changed his ship though (besides making it shiny) ...that's pretty cheesy looking) It should look like a REAL spaceship from another planet :lookaroun

I think you certainly do not need to worry about your french ; You are doing very well ! As for me since i do not read in french and speak it much anymore my vocabulary is not as good as it should be since it's my first language . I miss it , this was fun ,

Sorry for the thread drift Freak ! It has been a long time since i have seen ET but one of my favorite moment is when he is in the closet with all the stuffed toys hiding , that was so funny, i can't wait to watch it again !
