I want to take the boyfriend there in October because he is a HUGE ESPN fan. I've never been and was wondering if it was worth a trip or is it just like another Planet Hollywood-over marketed and just ok food?

We always make a point of getting there once or twice each time. It's decent pub food and drink with 3 million tv's all showing several different sports. It's also very loud, but it's a sports bar. :-)

Well worth it. Food is great, relatively cheap based on serving size, and it's just fun!!

Always stop here for dinner on day of arrival.

I've found the food is hit or miss. It's been more hit than miss lately but there is always that chance. When you just make sure it is not at a time that a major sports team is playing (Florida, any NFL team) or you will have difficulty getting a seat.

Funny you wrote that jakeman, as the boyfriend is a diehard Duke fan. :)

If you were from anywhere else in the country I would say go.

But being as you are from NJ, I have to say, take him to the ESPN zone in Times Square instead.

The one by the boardwalk is nice, but the Times Square one is just so much more of everything.

But .... I just looked on the ESPN zone website and I see this

D23 is the Official Community for Disney Fans. Members of D23 will receive a special bundle offer when they show their valid D23 membership card prior to ordering. This special bundle gives D23 members a burger, a non-alcoholic beverage and a $15 game card for only $20!* Up to four (4) food bundle offers per membership card per seating. Not a member of D23 yet? Click here to learn more

When did that start? Makes me almost wish I didn't let my D23 membership slide.

If you and/or the bf enjoy sports, I think it's a fun place to go. We've only eaten in the bar area, and yeah, the food is decent, but nothing spectacular (I recommend the turkey/brie sandwich -- someone on this board suggested it, and it was good).

However, I would say that the food is as good as anyplace for lunch in DHS, and you can just catch the boat from DHS over to the boardwalk (or you can walk), so it might be a fun way to do lunch, or even dinner, one day while you're at DHS. Also, I didn't think it was expensive.

It's a great place! Great food too. A little pricey but you're paying for the ambience. They have a great gift shop attached to it as well. I've gotten a lot of stuff there over the years to take home for friends.

Man...I just couldn't let mine slide. I love that magazine too much, and this year I got an awesome 23 month 'Unrealized Disney Projects' calendar too. :)

Sorry for the thread drift. As I said above, go to ESPN...it's fun. :)

I did a little reading after my last post, and found out that the ESPN Club at WDW has nothing to do with the ESPN Zone chain. Since Disney owns ESPN, the can use the name, but I believe the club is a creation unique to WDW. In light of this, I don't know if the D23 promo is valid at the Boardwalk ESPN Club.

You know I never put the two together that one is the Club and one is the Zone. I just figured we'd hit up the Boardwalk because it's one of my favorite spots and he loves ESPN. I'm so excited....:D

I love the food at ESPN Club. We make sure we visit once each trip. The Triple Play Turkey & Brie is my favorite - I even tried making it at home once. It wasn't quite the same. But I always look forward to getting in when I'm in Disney. :)

DH always has to get the nachos, they're pretty good too.
