Erika is depressed, disorganized and a potential problem.

I always knew that Erika was a big windbag, she`s full of HOT AIR! On the serious note though before Hurricane season even began they were predicting a big hurricane season cause of the Elninio,I`m not sure of how you spell it, type currents in the ocean.

Well, you got me! You know I'm not used other people/ weather phenomena sharing my name (with its spelling) so when I saw this thread I thought "What did I do NOW?!?!?" I hadn't even heard about the storm yet.

And as I said before, I do hope it loses strength, as I always do with these situations.

Edited to add: You can bet that my family members who lived through Hugo and Floyd are going to be calling to tease me with this one!

I always knew Erika was a forced to be reckoned with....

lighten up.... I lived through Hugo when I lived in PR and Andrew in Miami....

if you don't have a sense of humour about this, things will seem worse than they are.

Not to mention whenever a potentially bad hurricane was about to hit.. anyone with that name was definitely the target of jokes.

Ah, but if a hurricane is particularly damaging (a la Andrew, Hugo, etc.) it is removed from the list and replaced by a new name. So a Hurricane Roberto may eventually be in our future.....

And then the names of the big storms that do a lot of damage are retired. ( Ex, Fredric, Andrew, Hugeo , ect )

correct on the retiring of killer storm names. But let's hope we don't get a "roberto" or "rob" because that's a long way down the list and that means a lot of storms being brewed up before we hit R.

like Danny. I remember a Danny that "hit" New Orleans back in 1985. I was holed up in a hotel working the front desk(all glass lobby!)--met one of my best friends that day.
