EpcotServo's Feb.28th Update: Laugh Floor Preview

Plus, they kind of pull one over on Disney fans. There are mirrors at the end of the hall to hide the fact that it's much shorter now. But it looks like it's still the same length as before! Plus another reason it retains the Tomorrowland feel, is that it feels like a big culture-shock when you enter the monster world. They did that great! It really feels like you went more than a few feet away.

Is the mirror part of the wall where the door into the Monster World is? Is it positioned so that you can't see Guests reflected in it? Perhaps this is their way of trying to make it look like there's a hallway beyond the door, and when the door becomes active and you walk through it, you're walking through a portal into the Monster World rather than the supposed hallway that continues on past it.

It's probably intended to be a subtle effect rather than an in-your-face effect. It's along the same lines as the mirror used for effect in Pooh's boarding area, where it looks like the cars in front of you are actually going INTO the book, because it looks like there's no room "behind" the book to go into.

I think what REALLY would have been cool would be if they could start without the door being there, and have the space beyond it appear to be empty hallway. Then from a slot in the ceiling, a set of the mechanical arms delivers the door(s), the red light above it lights up, the doors open and voila, what's beyond the door looks nothing like what was there before. Yeah, something like that. :)

This is the title of your thread...You did a preview, others added their opinion, that is how a board works.

EpcotServo's Feb.28th Update: Laugh Floor Preview

This is a title of your thread yet you add...

Early this morning, our express Monorail to Magic Kingdom went the other way around. (Clockwise instead of Conter-Clockwise.) I think it's because they were putting a train on.

-The glass store has reopened, giving more much needed room for the Bakery.

-The Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club opened up for back-to-back play tests, to see how the attraction will work from day-to-day when it opens in Spring. As always, it's up in the air, and is not set in stone.

-The Tomorrowland Indy Speedway has reopened, but I hate ours so much I didn't go on it.

-Stitch had quite a line for some reason.

-Haunted Mansion still REALLLLLY needs a rehab.

Not to start a fight here, but when you title a thread about a new attraction, expect both sides of the story. Especially when the title of your thread is only a bit of your post. We read a bit of the new attraction, plus we read how much you hate the Speedway, how much you apparently dislike the Stitch attraction, and how much you think Mansion needs a rehab.

Welcome to a forum where people can reply in any way that they want. For you to tell them otherwise isn't fair and it won't work. The only way you could stop people from posting their opinions would be to close this thread...

I only added that to the end of the title to inform people that there was some pictures of it in here. It's not a thread about the Laugh Floor. (I only mention it in a blurb there) And I actully like Stitch. Just pointing out it's odd it had a line. Again, I've done previews of it a few times now, this thread isn't about the preview. It's about the update. I just don't want this to turn into one of those 8-page long flame war threads.
And yes, Rob562, that's it. It's a very nice use of it, like Pooh. I've always loved clever mirror illusions. (Like in the old Universe of Energy!) That would've been really cool, but I have no idea how it could've been done, or where they'd find the space for it. Plus the suits would be worried about a large object that comes down in a guest space.

Well here's the deal, the bashing of MILF has become very tired and repetitive, and there's almost no rebuttal. Funnily enough, the majority of the people complaining have yet to see it and will never like it because it's a Pixar (which is Disney btw) attraction in their beloved Tomorrowland that allegedly had a theme at one time.

I've seen Stitch, I found it terrible, and I've never seen a full queue. EpcotServo was pointing out how odd it was that it actually had a line.

When we saw it, the place was full....and that was with no notification that it was even open. It was all walk by traffic.

You know...I really don't give a rip what anyone else thinks of this attraction....we saw it, we thought it was funny and when it goes live, we'll go to it again.

For all you that don't like without even seeing it...stay away, less people in line ahead of me then.

For the most part I think that the people complaining about this attraction that haven't seen it would have complained no matter what is there because they complain about everything.

As a side note, this may have been caused by one of the two chambers going 101. This essentially halves the throughput of the attraction.

Milf

I have had enough with people who have a problem with the MILF!

The MILF has feelings too!

How would you like it if you were the MILF and everyone was saying nasty things about you!?!

The MILF can't help being what it is...that's why the MILF will always be a MILF to me!

Those of us that have seen the show have put in our testimonies and have the right to do so but opinions can be made without seeing the show in person. I myself don't like to speak until I know, but on this subject, I am dead certain that my comments are not unique...

Again, for all of you that seem to take the negative feedback towards the show as offensive, learn to ignore it or deal with it rather than complaining about how others are complaining. You are in an environment where freedom of speech is at its finest and even though you have some odd or strong statements made here [every once in a while] at WDWMagic.com, the members with experience here have all realized that there isn't any use arguing over an opinion, so learn from such members or ignore the issue at hand... Just my rant...

Well said. People have been getting too worked up over other people's opinions on these forums.

Here we go. Accusing people for not see it in person or complaining about everything when they don't like your beloved show. Maybe you never have seen it too but you just want to defend everything Disney has done. Who knows.

Burn the witch that likes the show! And throw the man that dosen't like it over a cliff! And start kicking!
The sad part is that either way you get mad about a show you should just enjoy. Even if you don't like it for whatever reason, everyone should just quit the flame wars and just sit back and enjoy the show. Because like it or not, if you laugh even once during the show, it's done the job right! Not that the people who really hate it will ever admit they laughed if they did.

This show was designed to make people laugh more than they do in Crush... Designed to be a comedy club where people could laugh almost if not more than the Adventurer's Club. If it can only get one laugh out of a guest per show, then it truly is the failure that I and others have been saying it is... Whose side are you on at this point?

That single line just killed the rest of your testimony...

First of all....have you even read any of my posts? I said way at the beginning that we caught a preview of the show on 2/26....so yes, I have seen the show.

"Beloved show"? Hardly....we liked it, but that's it.

"Defend everything Disney has done"? Hardly....look up my posts. I am as critical of Disney and some of the lame stuff they've done as anyone. Just look at any of my comments regarding YOMD.

If you've seen the show and don't like it then you have a valid opinion...but to criticize a show that you haven't seen is just being ignorant and simple minded. My comment was more of an observation that the people who are highly critical of the show and haven't seen it seem to be the same people that complain about everything Disney does.

Objective criticism is one thing but continual complaining stops being relevant quickly and soon no one listens.
