Interesting choice to use music from one of the videos played in the immigration halls at most US airports, except Orlando ironically, in this...
The immigration Hall music is actually the music from epcot's show Illuminations : Reflections of Earth.

Who’s running Disneyland Paris? Can they take over the US parks too!?!? Please!?
Right?!?! Omg DLP's entertainment game is on another level right now and good for them.
Yep. With a unique recording and edit of ROE:

100% yes.

Iger's too busy supporting ABC/ABC News to tell Team Epcot to honor ROE or return POE Tag!...........
it’s all the same thing. You see, for the 2000 election, ABC News used Illuminations 2000: Reflections of earth as the music for the bumpers entering and returning from commercials:

That was also the theme song and intro to the Millennium Celebration 2000 Broadcast. I have a CNN 2000 DVD that has a summary highlighting all the world's Celebration perfectly paired with this song. If this song was created for Epcot alone then you couldn't of asked for a better song to highlight the year 2000 and new millennium.

It originally was not supposed to be in the lagoon all day.

It was a park operations battle that ended up killing its ability to not ruin the sightlines.
correct me if wrong but aren't we seeing this all over again? Haven't they been leaving the luminous barges on the water during the day now or did they stop? Granted they aren't as bad but still.

Was just there Friday 9/13 and got caught behind the bridge as they moved the barges into the lagoon in the afternoon. So definitely not leaving them all the time!

We were seeing it again. The bridge was inoperable for a while, so they remained in the lagoon. They have to move everything from backstage to reload and prep the show, so it takes much longer that way. They don't like it any more than we do.

I've now given it multiple chances in person and I just don't like a single thing about Luminous (which pains me to say). I feel 0 emotion throughout the entire show. The music is lackluster and there isn't enough pyro in the show for me to love it (or even like it tbh).

Hoping the song choices happen over the course of the next year. As a 90's kid I just want ROE back but any upgrade will help at this point. I'm hosting an Epcot dessert party as party of my wedding events next year and am so disappointed that my guests will have to experience luminous.

I love your honesty. Great to hear different opinions.

There were some big misses with this show, but it's better than the last two shows in Epcot. You don't have to have your dessert party there if you dislike it so much. Selling events during the show does indicate guests like the show. You're fighting against yourself at some level.

Agreed. There's no option to do one for HEA (which would have been my first choice) and the space for Fantasmic doesn't work for my guest count so I'm a bit stuck but totally agreed.

It's not better than Epcot Forever to me. Maybe for you Luminous is better than the last two. I just wouldn't say last two judging Epcot Forever was made for temporary. With Epcot Forever they had some innovative firework designs I've never seen before making it advanced wheras Luminious and Harmonious had so many pyros but alot of the fireworks are repeats to me.. The thing that bugs me about Luminous is not the fireworks, I love them, it's the soundtrack even the originals where it's not like eveytime you listen to it you never get tired of it with how I experienced Illumination's ROE and Epcot Forever.

Harmonious was a disaster for several reasons, so I think we can agree on that one. EF had some promise, but I just felt like it didn't deliver. In the beginning with the jet skis and kites it was more visually interesting, but the music never hit the mark. The failure to include the original music and the narrator sealed it's fate in my opinion. I'm glad you liked it, but I would take Luminous over that given the choice. Luminous could be much improved, but a lot of us (I think you might be in this boat with me) compare it to RoE whether intentionally or not. It's unlikely they'll have a show that can compete with that.

Actually I realize Epcot Forever was strong in "energy" in instrumentation on it's own paired with voices from men, women and children and Walt. The music carried the show which Luminous is carried by the narrator and the songs rely on each singer to climax it, wheras Epcot Forever it didn't matter whether moments there was a singer or not the show just went from beginning to end with whatever they gave along the way. Illumination's ROE also whether it was instrumentation score to we go on with a vocalist.

This is a really good point, and I'm glad you quoted yourself in your reply. I still listen to the RoE soundtrack and love it, whereas I don't listen to any of the songs from Luminous. I actually dislike a few of them. It is often the music that really gets us emotionally, and Luminous doesn't do that for me. EF didn't either, but it did pull at the nostalgia a bit. Where Luminous earns points is the feeling I get from the original music in it. The rest of it is just average tbh. That beginning feels Epcot to me, though.

What I would do is since the original songs are all dependent on words and lyrics have any of the middle songs that are IP related not have a singer. We all know the IP songs so you could make any song more touching our heart strings how you instrumentalize it.
For example I love Proud Corazon when it first comes in with only the trumpet. I love the Epcot Theme which is an orchestra song in itself. If you were to replace any IP songs you could instrumentalize them in an Epcot or World Showcase way without it just being cheesy with a singer who isn't the film's original star singing it. I see the Light doesn't need Katherine Mcphee I'm sorry.. Let Katherine McPhee do Beating of Our Hearts or something original.

They have to hundred percent take the Toy Story You've Got a Friend/Friend Like Me "fun party" out let HEA have it's better version. I think the When She Loved Me and Remember Me would be even more sadder without singing if you think about it.
