ROE had a more adult feeling to it. There was always a vibe of anticipation when the pre-show music started which carried through the show. Also it was original and unique and fun. Imagine what could have been done to reimagine and update ROE with the amount of time, money, and resources that were thrown into Harmonious and Luminous.

If they came back with ROE, (even using the Luminous hardware as a base) I think it would be a phenomenal success.

Yes, I've seen Illuminations countless times. We still play the music here at home. I mistyped, meant I have yet to see Luminous in person.
I wish Luminous was completely instrumental.

I'm fortunate to have watched Luminious 15+ times now... and I kind of prefer it over Illuminations overall? Nothing beats the Illuminations intro... but Luminous is a wonderful show, and the crowd reacts very well to it.

We can go back and forth about whether the show "fits" in Epcot... but it's a wonderful experience and very Epcot-y at the start/end. The middle portions, like Illuminations, can change overnight and won't impact the key points of the show.

As for whether or not Luminous is creating more or less business in dining packages/revenue... I think a lot of that can be attributed to some of the ridiculous pricing along with the emphasis of arriving earlier in the day to experience some of the headliners and people deciding to head out earlier in the day.

Heck, on some days Genie+ & a Lightning Lane can be the price of a dinner, so people are just substituting probably...

On the one hand, they have to be happy it’s more popular than the last two shows and they no longer have the complaints about how ugly World Showcase looks. On the other hand, I wouldn’t be surprised to see segments changed over time.

I know the “sorry your mom died” segment is unpopular among many groups.

IF they really are going to Up entertainment in 2025 for their unofficial answer to EU lol, maybe we could see a few Luminous changes and or additions? coughdronescough lol.

This data is good to see, as a RoE diehard. I'm hopeful that someday they can bring it back, even just for special occasions, as it would undoubtedly be popular.
A throwback night with Illuminations and a modified version of Tapestry of Nations would sell out fast. Add in Off Kilter, Magic Journeys, and a Dreamfinder meet and greet and you have a gold mine.

It would sell out fast, but I actually wouldn't buy it. I don't do the hard-ticket events, and I don't think I ever will. (I actually just hope they bring back the show long-term...probably a pipe dream, but you never know!)

The Earth barge is gone, and I'm not quite sure how they'd run the show without it. It played a critical role in moving the show along.

I was at Disney this past weekend and finally got to see Luminous in person. I thought it was okay. The fireworks were impressive, but the music was not memorable. I think the music from Harmonious was better, I just hated the permanent structures and the chaos of the show. I really wanted to like it. I bought DVC points at Boardwalk because my family enjoyed ending the night at Epcot watching Illuminations. Now I can just watch the best part of the new show from my balcony at Boardwalk and avoid the crowds.

I thought it was only me. But I did enjoy Illuminations and I miss it.
That's kind of the most amazing thing about RoE is how popular it was DESPITE the long dead-space in the middle with the screens. Imagine if they used the fountain apparatus they have now! It would be INCREDIBLE with the music!

Although I am a little disappointed that it's not higher, you do kind of have to take into account that there's not as much data to go off of yet unlike the previous shows which had run for years and this is only run for what 6 months and hasn't gone through even summer yet. Honestly this is probably my personal bias because I love the show so much. Let's also not forgot a lot of the same people who love Harmonious also hated it at first...

When (not if cause we know its coming eventually) they make changes to the show, lets all light our prayer candles that they don't touch the opening and the finale; especially the finale. It's the best finale at WDW right now.
Agree - the start/end are very good and fits Epcot. Everything else in the middle can be swapped/rearranged.

I'm with you on it being the best finale at WDW.

This should be highlighted... not much data to go off by yet. It's a good start, but just not enough to answer anything solidly. The show does very well, especially the finale, judging by what I hear from the crowd.
