whats going to hurt them is that this show does not look good on YouTube, I know that lake, everything looks larger in person and is defiantly a show that has to be seen in person

There is a small snippet of One Little Spark, in Resort TV livestream. You can’t hear it though because he is speaking over it.
I just hope this doesn’t overstay its welcome and last more than 5 years. It’s no HEA or ROE.

I think the infrastructure is solid enough to where they can just go from one show to the next without a need for an “interim show”.

To be fair Illumination's doesn't translate well on camera either (with the exception of Cliffix's videos his are SPECTACULAR). People call it boring but it was a different experience in person than on video. Only Epcot show that translates well on camera is Harmonious to be honest

That's what's big about this show. Even if this one doesn't stay it's so easy to just reuse the current infrastructure for years and years and years.

Admittedly, that part was boring plus I could barely see pictures on it even with glasses on but you had the classical music and no narration.
I was at the park. Not sure if the live stream would have picked it up. It was after the show. Assuming it will be a set post show exit the park music. After the cover the music switched to Christmas music.

It's a very pretty show. Beautiful colors, dancing water and lights. Great pyro, fantastic finale.
I thought it would be more instrumental. For my tastes there was too much singing and too much narration.
Definitely not a bad show and look forward to watching in person. The big, big win today for Epcot is World Celebration Garden.

I mean no updates to effects LEDs replacing strobes from the 80s, projections, etc.
Even just incorporating the WS as a show story element was not done.
It can be shot pretty well in the future by someone that knows the show well to know when to go tight and when to go wide, and that's largely why I was disappointed Disney didn't have their own stream and left people at home to watch vloggers trying to figure it out on the fly.
But I still thought it looked pretty good on YouTube. WDWMagic's shared still photos are beautiful.
I think the biggest thing Luminous does (from what I have seen online) that the mistake on the lake whiffed on, was respect of the World Showcase Lagoon as a one-of-a-kind venue. You need to design a show that evenly engages this audience flatly wrapped over a mile around a body of water and Harmonious did not.

I honestly think what's important here is that, whether you think it was excellent or not, there's at least a solid framework that can be built upon or modified as necessary. You have:
- movable barges that span much of the lagoon and can produce a good crescendo of effects.
- very solid original opening and closing numbers.
- a structure that doesn't feel like a castle show and allows pieces to be swapped in or out easily.

I'm gonna be honest with you for a second and I know some will disagree but I have a feeling many people would have not liked Illuminations if it came out today. I could see it now. "So boring!" "Harmonious was more energetic!"

First thoughts. Love the intro and finale.
I also can't get over the heart-formed pyro effects in the finale. There are 6 of them, and they go off every beat of the song. And they're viewable all from around the lagoon. It's mwah! Chef's kiss!
At a first glance, I like the different pyro uses throughout the show. Bravo to the pyro team! We don't have the weird moving arms anymore (aka Harmonious), but we have a ton more barges and they produce some pretty spectacle things.
Really need to see this in person just for the fireworks themselves (imo). Haven't seen an Epcot fireworks show in person since 2020 with Harmonious. Completely skipped the park at night on my recent Sept 2023 trip because Epcot Forever wasn't something to desire.
