I know that i have read somewhere about Epcot's Dolphins In Depth program(at least that's what I think it is called..), and I have a few questions about it..
What does it cost? What do you get to do in the program? Has anyone here done it? And how to you make reservations to do it?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out here!:)

There was a thread a while ago about this being suspended for the time being, due to a dolphin dying, but I'm not sure.

Well, I know they stopped the program for a while, does anyone know when they will start the program again? Cause I know that they have got a new dolphin to replace the one that died..

I saw the dolphins on TV a few weeks ago. They are teaching them to speak a very simple language. So the are alive... a least a few weeks ago!

Not to take away from Disney's Dolphin program, but a good alternitive to this program is a day spent over at Discover Cove instead.

Last year we wanted to do a Dolphin swim, and when you weigh the costs and what you get, the Discovery Cover visit, hands down, is well worth the money over the Dolphins In Depth program.

From what I've read about Dolphins In Depth, Disney take an almost "hands off" approch, where Discovery Cove is very "hands on".

Discovery Cove is a bit more ($200 versus $140) per person, but you get alot more at Discovery Cove.

Just my $0.02. :D

Yea, we did the DC Trainer for a Day last year. Simply amazing.

I started with looking at the Disney program first, and upon researching it, I found DC. After reading all the reviews on the two, it's hands down DC. I love Disney, but $140 is steep. Most Dolphin swims are about $100, and from what I've read, the Disney one is the shortest, and most "hand off" of them all.

For the $200 at DC (and it was $360 for the Trainer program), you get a whole park, not jusr a couple of hours. Well woth the extra bux.

I agree... I would do Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins instead of Disney. The one at Disney seems to be too short interacting with the dolphin, so if Discovery Cove costs that and I would get the whole park, I´d do it. :animwink:

OF course... if I had the money... :(

If you can swing the cost, do the Trainer For A Day (TFAD) program they offer. You'll get 2 Dolphin interactions. The second one will get you more one on one, and you get to help train the Dolphins in some behaviours.

Plus you'll get to feed either the sharks or barracudas, and the big rays. The rays were alot of fun. They come flying out of the water and into you laps to get the fish. We had a ball.

Plus you'll get to do alot of behind the sceens stuff too.

It's expensive, but well woth it. You'll never want to do the regular day again.:D

BTW, nice web site, and I love your avitar! :)

I was under the impresion that the manatee program was a rehabilitation program and not an ongoing thing. Are the new manatees in rehabilitation or is this part of a new program with floridia sea life
