Epcot's Complex Crowd Patterns

This is how you have to do Epcot...

9am - Rush to Soarin'

9:30am - Rush to Test Track, FP or ride with short wait

10am - Rush to Turtle Talk and hope to be one of the first in line, thankfully first show is at 10am, and with construction work they often delay the entire pavilion until 10am (no set schedule yet though).

Then, maybe lunch? Hey! World Showcase is opening and if you want to Rush there too, you can be seated at restaurants that have been reserved for the entire day.

Whoo.. complicated, and tough on the tootsies to boot.

Anyone else have any other way of doing it? Turtle Talk becomes 60mins right after the first showing, and only gets worse through the day.

Test Track can be a walk-on during the slow periods, but Soarin' stays busy.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how else to do it...

My current plan has us going straight to Soarin', then to the Living Seas, then to Turtle Talk with Crush. On the way out of the park (around lunch time), we'll get Test Track FPs for when we return in the evening.

I usually go to Epcot by myself, so I don't actually have to worry about Test Track lines - I just hop into Single Riders.

I find Epcot to be totally unpredictable. I once ate dinner in The Land around 6 PM and Soarin' had a posted time of 50 minutes. I always check Soarin' by walking into the actual queue because the posted time can be very off sometimes. This particular instance, the wait was actually about TEN minutes. So you never know.

My only must-do's when I visit Epcot are IMAG, SSE, and, depending on my mood, Living with the Land. Soarin' is a must-do only if the wait is short.

I've never done Turtle Talk.

And once the clock strikes seven, World Showcase is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to navigate. So... many... people...

If you're fortunate enough to have two days at EPCOT, one of my tips is to book it to American Adventure just after the rope drop in World Showcase. Since it is the furthest point from Future World, almost everyone is leeched of by other World Showcase attractions. I caught the first show (11:15, I think) with three other people in the theatre. Gives you a few minutes of quiet time to explore the lobby, then a semi-private showing of the attraction.

We haven't been there since June 2004, so Soarin and Turtle Talk weren't there. We've always used the Unofficial Guide tour plans and have done pretty darn good in EPCOT. Granted, the two abovementioned attractions weren't there yet, and it sounds like they've skewed traffic patterns.

I guess we'll see what happens this June!

I haven't found a much better plan. By my calculations, I now need (need!) 6 days at least, in order to beat the early crowds to:
1) Space Mountain
2) Tower of Terror and Rock n Roll Roller Coaster
3) Expedition Everest
4) Kilamanjaro Safaris
5) Test Track
6) Soarin'

The only thing that helps is if you can get a fast pass to one of them...

One other thing:

I thike to grab a FP for Soarin', then hop in line for Soarin'... but only at park opening.

It's like... two rides for the price of one.

My key to EPCOT is to head to Imagination whenever it gets busy. Imagination is like the polar opposite of the rest of the park. When EPCOT gets full to the gills, Imagination is dead empty, I just don't get it.

Thats my little secret though. Lets not all rush to Imagination now, ok.

Usually get to Epcot around 11. Get a FP for Soarin'. Use the SRL at Test Track and M:S whenever we want to ride those. I've never seen Turtle Talk and really don't have that much desire to do so. It looks neat and all, but it's not a must see in my book. We'll see JII, TLS, and the rest of the Land around the time for our Soarin' FP.

Soarin's still a load of fun though. My favorite Epcot attraction right now.

I would love to see that same technology used to deliver a more thrilling experience though.

It was kind of a let down to me.

Ditto. I just hope Everest isn't the same way. All the build up making my expectations nearly impossible to live up to.

Umm Everest is fun and all, but I actually was expecting it to be more than it was. :lookaroun

From what I've seen of Everest, my expectations are extremely low. It looks like it is going to be a fun little BTMRR type ride and nothing more. I expect to like the queue better than the ride itself

I do hope that the lift gives great views though. I expect that will be the best part of the ride. And I also hope that riding at night will be a much better experience.

I wish they hadn't went for the family thrill ride here and instead made a true thrill ride (like the RNRC), but I still think I'll enjoy the ride. Just not as much as I thought I would when the thing was announced.
