The Kakigori cart that is currently in Japan is slated on being removed and a more prominent kiosk/building to be added.

The new building is going to match the architecture of the surrounding buildings and be sponsored by the Mitsukoshi company with their logo on the front.

I'd rather have the bullet train simulator or Mt Fuji!

かっこいい!

I hope they can staff it with real Nihon-jin. Next they need to expand the little shop in front of Yakitori House.

ありがとう!

Kaki-Gori will continue

The kaki-gori shaved ice cart will just move from one :)side of the pavillion to the other while the refurbishment is going on. The new Kaki-gori area will be better and offer more choices. This is a positive refurbishment.

Are those no real Japanese? I thought all CMs in WS have to be from the specific country. Yes I speak a little Japanese too. Or better:
Watashi-wa sukoshi nihongo-o hanasemasu.
I always talk Japanese to the CM in the Japanese pavilion.

That's about the magnitude of all "major changes" in WS for more than 20 years now. New carts, refurbished restaurants, changed shops, new signs, musicians, new menus in the restaurants etc. No rides, shows or pavilions.
That's really sad.

What on earth can "Meet the World" be if you would prefer it to a superheadliner E-ticket like Mt. Fuji?

This is what the show building in WS Japan is built for. Similar to the Carousel of Progress except the rotating audience sits in the center of the show and looks outward.

It had music by the Shermans. It was built and had a nearly 20-year run in Japan; never built in Florida. You can find videos online.

Thank you for the info and the link. But I still cannot understand why someone would prefer this japanese version of the COP to the Mt. Fuji rollercoaster.

BTW I believed that the show building was built as part of the Mt. Fuji ride.

A lot of people don't like thrill rides.

There are many accounts of MtW@WS on the web. Here's a bit of one (from http://www.laughingplace.com/News-ID115020.asp):

How close did Walt Disney World allegedly come to getting its very own version of the "Meet the World" show? So close that the concrete construction pad for the Japanese Pavilion's theater-go-round building had reportedly already been poured out back when the attraction was abruptly canceled. I've also been told that the Walt Disney Company had already lined up a major Japanese corporation to underwrite the cost of construction when the Mouse pulled the plug on the project.
