EPCOT for picky eaters?

I've got 2 picky eaters in my group and while I would be okay with just going to Electric Umbrella, my folks want to have a sit down meal. Any recommendations?

Check the menus ahead of time (they're all posted on this site in the dining section) for the place(s) your foks want to go. Most TS restaurants (with very few exceptions) offer a kids' menu (or if it's a buffet restaurant, a section of the buffet) offering chicken nuggets, burgers, grilled chicken, mac & cheese, etc., from which your picky eaters (adult or child) can select, assuming that "picky" means "I only like to eat really simple American food." Even most of the adult menus for international restaurants include some Americanized, fairly unseasoned choices.

If you subscribe to the touringplans website and your picky eaters only eat 2 or 3 things, there's a "search for menu items" tool you can use to find places serving a particular item -- just type it in and it will tell you every restaurant on WDW property that serves it. If Junior will eat nothing but peanut-butter-and-jelly, this is the fastest way to weigh your options. http://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/dining

Surprisingly my very picky son enjoyed the Beirgarten. There is a variety and maybe it would work for you too. Happy eating.

Here's a link to the Epcot menus:

In Future World, Sunshine Seasons has a lot of variety, for sure. Electric Umbrella looks to have pretty basic stuff (chicken nuggets, burgers, etc.).

When I was younger, I was super picky and pretty much only ate chicken nuggets/tenders. During our first-ever visit to WDW in 1995 I know we at at Liberty Inn, the counter service spot in the American Adventure. Again, nuggets, burgers, etc.

Check out the menus, I'm sure you'll find something. :)

For a long time when I was younger, I refused to eat anything but split pea soup at restaurants. My poor parents.

I concur with Via Napoli - most kids like pizza and it's a fun restaurant with the three huge ovens. I also think most restaurants would have a selection of kid-type food available, whether they advertise it or not.

Garden Grill. It is standard American fare, but the food quality was great, the character interaction was awesome and I love spending time in the Land Pavilion.

Plus, the rotating feature with the view of the Living with the Land boat ride is neat. And, like Sunshine Seasons, a lot of that food is grown right there in the Land pavilion, so you know it's fresh!

I am a rather picky eater. However, anywhere that there is a steak on the menu, I am fine (i.e., Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, and others). Even if it is prepared in a way that is too seasoned or spicy for me, Disney is happy to prepare it plain if you ask. Same goes for chicken or fish. Buffets are good because of the variety (i.e., Biergarten).

Hard to beat a steak. I'd say Le Celier if you can swing it. If your budget is tighter, I'd recommend Captains Grille at YC, a short walk from the International gateway. Solid food, not exotic, more reasonably priced.

Here's a third vote for check the menus ahead of time to help you choose. They are available on this site as well. Since you only said "picky" and made no mention of what the picky ones will or won't eat, none of us is in much of a position to make a recommendation.

As a somewhat picky eater myself, I guess it really depends on the kind of food they normally eat. Do they like chinese food? The Nine Dragons has some excellent standard chinese food meals. The Biergarten buffet in Germany also has a good selection of items.

Like everyone else said, check out the menus and pick a place based on that. :)

If you describe "picky" (like, picky how?), we might be able to help more.

Sunshine Seasons does have a decent selection, but it is not a restaurant where you sit and are waited on, which is what you said you wanted.

That made me laugh! Most non-picky eaters won't touch split pea soup :D

I agree with everyone on here that said the Biergarten. My brother and sister-in-law are super picky eaters. It took us more than 25 years to get my brother to go to the Biergarten. Now, he wants to go back. They have the standard kids meal kind of stuff on the buffet, along with a meat carving station, lots of salad options, schintzel, and other German foods (not just sausages). Plus, an outstanding band plays throughout the day, so you get entertainment as well.
