Nice pics!

Can anyone identify the plant in this picture?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/wonderfultime/448994009/in/set-72157600052898166/

I took a picture of it in the AK in January and haven't been able to identify it yet....I love the colors in it, and would love to know if it's able to grow locally, but I can't do that if I don't even know the name of it! Thanks!

It is a bromeliad. Google Image the word and have fun searching. There are a million types.

Not a point and shoot is it? Those pictures are wonderful.

Actually it is a point and shoot. Its my new Cannon PowerShot SD630 Digital ELPH

Here's some info.

It has a setting for Foliage and Plants. I turned on the macro for closeup pics pressed the button halfway down to lock the focus on the subject and took the photo. This camera is very versitile for the price point. I had an old Fuji before and this one runs circles around it. Great interface and quality.

Like they said its a Bromeliad and I just loved the color and sharpness of the bulbs. The CM invited me to touch it just to get a feel for its bizarre texture.

They really make the park so beautiful for this event. I wish it lasted longer. BSikor, what kind of camera do you have?
