EPCOT Films

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the speculation about a new Norway film just a rumor? I guess anything is possible since the rehab walls are up around Maelstrom, but still, I haven't heard anything concrete about actually replacing the film.

I believe (though someone else will be better able to confirm or deny this) that the Canada film and American Adventure extension clips are supposed to be up and running sometime later in 2007. That's the last I remember hearing, anyway...no real date or month, but sometime this year. I was under the impression that Canada was done filming and the AA clips aren't new footage anyway, so I don't see what could take them much longer than that.

Woah! America's getting a new film? Sweet......unless they make it all pc and crud.....
But I guess I can't complain. I have been waiting for as long as I got the real sense and meaning of it in me (about 3 years ago) for a new movie. Will they change the actual show as well. Update some AA's such as walking Ben or any new scenes?

The following infromation was published in this www.mouseplanet.com article: http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=wd070129mg:
"The new CircleVision film for the Canada pavilion will premiere in the summer or fall timeframe.
Also, 45 seconds of additional footage have been shot for the Golden Dream film segment at the end of the American Adventure attraction."
The Norway film was also officially announced but there has been no reported date as to when it will be put in the park.

Wow, the past few years I've visited Disney I've wondered if they were going to update the film. I can't wait to see what they've added. Does anyone know about when this will be up and running?

I don't know if it's just me, but the film tied with the music always brings a tear to my eye. It really instills deeper pride in America. Disney sure does know how to work the magic! :sohappy:

When I was at The Cananda Pavillion May 12th, I asked a castmember about a new O-Canada film. While I realize that castmembers aren't the best source for Up-To-Date information, this young man seemed pretty honest and intelligient. He told me that the new canada Movie should arrive around September/October.
Take this info for what it's worth.

Wasn`t Spirit of Norway v2 in preproduction a while back?

What`s more worrying is that Impressions de France has never been mentioned for an update - that`s the one with the most flared trousers!

Yeah Martin there was an article from Norway that stated it was in production. I suppose it will be put along with the wave of the other rehabs buring the fall along with Canada, American Adventure, and Spaceship Earth.:sohappy:

You've seen Ben Franklin first hand?!?

But seriously...I hope you don't really mean you've never seen The American Adventure! It's an experience in itself. (The "film" we're talking about is just the clips shown near the end of the show, not something separate.) It's nothing like the other country's presentations, which I agree you could maybe skip if you are of that nationality. But if you live in the U.S. and have traveled the country, that's all the more reason you need to see The American Adventure!

I hope they replace that terrible Norway movie. Its such a bore. So many people barrel through, you think they would get the hint.

I couldn't disagree more. In fact, I'd rather see the movie than ride Maelstrom. When I watch the film I get a feeling for the country and its people. I'd actually argue it's not long enough. You hardly scratch the surface of the country and then it's over. The ride, on the other hand, tells me very little about Norway. You see Vikings, you see trolls, you drop down a hill backwards, you see polar bears, you drop down another hill, and you see...A GIANT OIL RIG? What the farg? Is this supposed to be the current state of Norway? If so, that's a sad, sad statement. And that's the end of the ride, too. Wow. How lame. All I really "learned" was that oil is the most important thing to Norway today.
Personally, I think those who "barrel through" are missing out...but if all they want is cheap thrills, then I suppose they got their fix.

Right now, at Canada and AA, WDI sound Engineers have been wandering around. They are going to upgrade and update the sound systems similar to the changes in China. They also rumored that there going to be more changes to AA besides just the film
