EPCOT failed - Epcot is great!

You can still entertain and make sense. Like I said, I'm not against Nemo in TLS. I just think it needs to have some kind of story and place like everything else at every other Disney park around the world. I thought that they would've made it look like Nemo and friends were looking through windows into the Seabase and watching people go through. But just painting him on the wall makes no sense if it WAS a Seabase. Everywhere else at Disney, is supposed to put you in a place, or a time. And if it dosen't, it won't pretend to be. It just dosen't make any sense as it stands now. If we're in a Seabase as the signs say, why are there pictures of Nemo on the wall? If this is just a place to learn about the seas with Nemo, why does it look like a seabase in most places? Why is it called "Seabase?" It's trying to be two things at the same time. It needs to define WHAT it is trying to be. It kills me because there are so many things it could be. Like an undersea reef, or a sunken old submarine, OR a seabase where Nemo and friends take us to learn more about the Sea. But what is it now? A blue room with a gift shop. All it can be called right now is "EXIT".
I get what you are saying. You are troubled by the inconsistencies in the story and I have to agree with you.

As to my opinion about Nemo and TLS, I have absolutely no problem with it. To me, it is one of the most natural and synergistic [Is that a word?] connections that Disney has made. It is also one of the smartest. Before the Nemo invasion, TLS was the most boring pavillion in all of Epcot, at least for me. Compared to the great aquariums that have been popping up around the country, TLS was tired and wornout. I'm a "visit every attraction on every trip" kind of homer. Yet, I found that we would fail to make it to TLS on many trips and didn't really miss it. Now, with Turtle Talk, it is a must. Oh, and after I see Crush, I'll even go check out the tank! Can't wait for the new stuff to open either!

I work here and I only set foot in TLS three times within the last year, including my last trip on a hydrolator. :(

I agree that the Nemo overlay is positive, but I also understand the concerns that it could destroy any storyline the pavilion had. The attraction, however, should tie everything together. I just wish that the "re-entry" hydrolators would have remained. As it stands now, the Clammobiles drop Guests off at the Seabase; then Guests just walk outside and into the sunlight. That doesn't make sense at all. WDI should address this, but they probably won't; the hydrolators aren't coming back.

Edit: Corrected quote.

I'm with you.

TLS wasn't one of my favorite pavilions and I was hoping to see Finding Nemo added to the parks, so therefore I've been excited about this change ever since the rumor started. However, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy what the original TLS had to offer and I can see where huge TLS fans are coming from. Personally, I think this rehab will end up more like The Land than like JII. Everything I've seen so far has me very optimistic and I hope the end result stays that positive.

So far, they've fixed problems as they've been noticed - like the big blue blotchy walls were covered over with the interior prints. The lack of any real decor inside or color was also fixed with this, and outside they're adding color and didn't remove the mural.

Anything i've found flawed, aesthetically, they've remedied, because it's been a work in progress. I think it'll turn out to be a great overall effort. The queue for Turtle Talk is a little less then perfect, but no one expected it to be that popular and there's honestly nowhere to put it.

You're right. You can't blame Disney for the Turtle Talk queue. They are doing the best they can with the situation.

I think everyone is kind of hoping the Nemo ride will sort of lower the Turtle Talk crowds, or atleast somehow spread them out. If they manage to increase them, there's gonna be issues and the line is going to need to start snaking outside the pavilion.

I would think that this ride will only draw more crowds to the pavillion, and therefore lengthen the line at Turtle Talk. The ride won't be long enough to spread out the crowds.

I'm not exactly sure of how they'll have it laid out once everything is complete, though. Originally, you had the queue, the movie, the hydrolators, the short ride, then you got dumped into the observation area. If they do the ride first again, it's essentially just another part of the queue.

Then again, I haven't read through all of the Nemo threads, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone already posted, or someone already knows, what the order will be.

Ride, then dumped into the pavilion.

The hope is that the ride through-put will somehow lower the number of people getting into line for Turtle Talk. Like, XX number will be geting off at a time, versus XXXX just walked right in the exit/extrance as they do now.

The hope is that it will keep the flow more steady. So, the wait will be shifted to a different area if anything.

We don't KNOW how the story will be handled. But the whole "Seabase" idea wasn't really that strong for most people. Why not let them finish and see how it's handled before getting to upset about a possible theming problem.
