The dog is back at Living with the Land and the giant wheel in SSE (the printing press scene) is still down. At this point I have given up hope that it will ever work again and I fear it has gone the way of the Yeti.

Also the anglerfish was down in Nemo as well.

Figured I'd give you'll an update, especially since the dog getting removed caused a fanboy uproar here.

I haven't seen the Anglerfish in full mode in quite some time. Full mode = it moves 360 degrees around that "room". There's a limited motion mode where it kind of just goes back and forth. Then of course no movement mode.

I noticed the dog was back on my trip a few weeks ago.
Anglerfish was working on our ride, which was about 11/16.

One thing that I noticed was that the second time I rode Energy (rode it once solo on 11/11, then again on 11/16 with a first-time rider) was that the middle pairs of cars in Energy were roped off and stayed parked on both turntables. (So a total of 4 stationary vehicles) I believe all vehicles were working fine on my first ride.

My guess is that one (or more) broke down and they just left them parked on the turntables so that they could keep operating.

Energy needs to balance its (air lifted) turntables. A vehicle that's immobile has to be left in the middle aisle.

Speaking of UOE, its inoperative effect list is quite extensive compared to 1982 sadly.

What's the major inoperative effects Martin? I don't ride it enough to know whats on/off, broken/working.

Rode Mission: Space today, half of Gary Sinese's commands didn't go off. I've had that happen on several occasions on M:S, sadly.

The side curtains in Theater 2 are the most glaring ones. And I just remembered that the "snake-like creature" attacking AA Ellen was immobile both rides, with just his jaw moving.

I know there are extra lava effects that really don't work anymore (or aren't noticeable in their current form). And I don't recall any fog in the strobe transition from Diorama to Theater 2.

Those are the only things I can think of off the top of my head.

Multiple fog machines, rain fx, original lava flow, lava jets (now water), most of the heating, side curtains in T2... wave machine and teetering rock deactivated...

UOE is IMHO the worst attraction in Epcot. It needs a total transformation. Back in the day it was really cool and new with it's trackless design, but it has remained stale, broken, and well, rather boring and way too long. The attention span of most visitors is maybe 5 minutes, but this is 45 minutes! It needs to be updated to be more current, and more interactive. High potential. This should be an easy score for WDW.

With the way things are going now I think they should wait to change Universe of Energy because you know if they change anything now they are going to screw it up. Even after Test Tracks refurbishment I still don't Trust them to change anything.

Reading through this list of things that are broken (or were) kind of depressed me. Then thinking of the whole printing press scene made me think of the paperboy who is facing backwards and I went from depressed to angry. LOL!

I don't think its overlooked as much as "why bother fixing it? 90% of riders won't know the difference." The problem is that the list of broken effects and bad show just keeps adding up, and I think its now beyond the point where only the fans notice these things.
