I am going to Disney for vacation from August 20 to 30. I am planning on drinking around the world at Epcot. Does anybody have any suggestions or tips, and how much should it cost to have one drink in every country.

Also, if anybody is interested in joining this adventure I will gladly accept a partner to help motivate me along the way as i am the only one in my family that drinks.

Great first post. Are we talking twelve beverages in a day (Mexico, Norway, China, Outpost, Germany, Italy, American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, Great Britain, and Canada) or one/possibly two on your ten day vacation? If you are of sound mind I would assume the first one... :lookaroun

-Start drinking at 11am. We started at 1pm and barely made it out before 9pm.
-Start in Mexico if you want to start with a bang (or vice versa.)
-Pace yourself. No reason to chug it. Enjoy it.
-Eat food too. Binge eat - don't binge drink.
-Associate yourself with all of the many restrooms.
-Most important: Don't leave the country until the drink has been finished.

Expect to pay around ten dollars per drink per country depending upon your beverage choice.

Fun things to do:
-Have some random things to say in each country's native language.
-Purchase a Epcot Passport, have your bartender sign it and use it as a coaster.
-Plan to stay for the awesome show at the Rose and Crown Bar.
-Have someone video tape your antics and submit it for college credit! (I would link to my video, but it's all kinds of not safe for work content. PM me though :D...)

EDIT: Oh and also Drinking Around the World is a privilege - so be sure to keep other guests (younger ones too) in mind.

All good tips. Just be wise. Epcot is aware of this game and will remove you if your party gets too rowdy. We started at Mexico at about 3pm and only made it to UK (skipping the domestic beer at the American pavillion) by the time Illuminations started.

Had a great time but I too will keep the video to myself.

We improvised when we did this, and made it a drinking or eating around the world trip. So in each country we could opt to get a drink, get a snack, or both. It kept us from getting too tipsy since we were eating too. Our bills varied, but sometimes DH & I shared, so it was never too bad. We made a page on microsoft word w/the Epcot logo in the middle, and each country stemming from it. Then we wrote in each country's space what we had. I'm a scrapbooker so this was awesome to have. :)

Our favorite drinks:
Sangria in Morocco
Margaritas in Mexico
Wine in Italy
Beer in Canada

Something fun that we did was take a picture in front of the country sign, holding whatever we got to eat or drink. We also bought the World Showcase passport & had the CM at the kidcot stations sign & stamp it. While that's typically for kids, we thought it was really fun while drinking around the world, since we really visited & experienced each country. Great souvenir! Have fun.

P.S Welcome to the boards!

1.) Don't start in Canada or Mexico. The drinks pack a punch there and you can get derailed very easily. Start a country or two in, and finish up there.
2.) Stick with one type of drink: just beers, just wines or just mixed drinks when possible.
3.) Eat often.
4.) Drink one bottle of water per country, too.
5.) Start right at 11 and take your time. Nothing is worse than alcohol and sun poisoning.

For something fun, get a KidCot passport and have it stamped at every country, take a pic with the person who served you and some common theme, like a hat.

I tried it once this past June. We only made it three countries in before the heat got to us and we decided to call it quits. We'll try again when the weather is cooler. :ROFLOL:

Haha, I love this idea. I actually don't drink at all, but I convinced my fiance to let us come to WDW for our honeymoon because he could get drunk in every country!

Before my husband and I were married back in 2000, we made a point to try an alcoholic beverage in each country. We had a ball. I think my favorite back then was the beer in Germany and Norway. I would love to do that again but now we have three little ones and won't be arriving until August 30, your last day!

I disagree with this a lot of this post. This is what I think...

1. If you're worried about a margarita packing a punch then you shouldn't be doing this.
2. Defeats the idea of diversity. Defeats the idea of the game. Sounds more like something you'd say to a college freshman listening to an orientation video.
3. True. World Showcase has good restaurants in every country. Share a snack with your friend(s) every few countries. A meal wouldn't hurt either (unless it might make you full).
4. Again. You're an adult. Drinking alcohol will dehydrate you... water when needed. Or not...
5. True. Start early... You've got a lot ahead of you. The important part is to find the spot where you're having fun and not annoying the other Guests. By starting around noon you allow yourself more flex time... even though you run the risk of getting very tired (that means you're going too slow).

In my experience, nothing at EPCOT "packs a punch"

They are all pretty much standard strength drinks. All pretty much have the same (lowish) alcohol content. Beers of course are not mixed or watered down, nor the wines. But really, there is nothing there that is going to knock me on my back after 2 or 3 of them.

finish in Mexico with a double shot of tequilla. Afterward go directly to Mission Space.:ROFLOL:

Just have fun and try to be somewhat responsible.

A great idea which I've done and seen on trip reports is wear a hat from each Country and take a picture with you the hat and the country specific drink...great souvenier.

Hmmm...I'm thinking if you drank one drink from each country and also drank one bottle of water with each drink, you wouldn't call it "drinking around the world"...you'ld call it " Tinkling Around The World."

Thanks for the advice everyone! I am planning to do this one of the days that Epcot has late hours and is open till midnight. Does anyone know if they serve alcohol until midnight, or do they stop selling at 9pm when the park usually closes.

Having until midnight to do this would make it this much easier! :)

I always start in Canada. Ice cold Moose Head Lager pleae!!!!

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Its not that big a challenge unless you are banging them down and speed walking between countries. The whole point is to savour both the beverage and atmosphere of each country/ venue.

I agee with Dave there is no heavy weight brews available at Epcot, now mixing drink types can have varying effects on different people but everyone should know what they can tolerate.

Mrs Sak doesn’t drink but my future son in law is with us on this trip and he does, although hes a lightweight, so it should be a more interesting afternoon/evening.

And I found a receipt for last year that showed a beer flight in Germany, had forgotten all about that but it was a nice change from the usual steins.

Where can most of these drinks be purchased? I guess I don't remember seeing stands that serve drinks, other then at the food and wine festival.
I am assuming you don't need to be at the table service restaurant.

My mom and I would like to do this. Not so much drink around the world because we won't have time and she would fall over after about the third stop. But we wanted to try some new things maybe a couple of the nights we are there. Is there wide selections in each country?

Drinks are available at kiosks all around the world showcase. Some of my favorites:

France - Orange Slush or Lemon Slush (both are $9 and worth every penny. I had people stop to ask me where I got my drink!)
Italy - Moretti beer
Mexico - Strawberry Margarita

The best tip I've read so far is to continuously drink water. You'll tinkle a lot but you won't get so smashed that they throw you out :ROFLOL:

Enjoy!

We're going to do this for our stag and hen days, the boys and the girls each working a different way around the world.

We only have about 3 hours though, as we're going for a meal at Le Cellier too, so think we'll be skipping a few countries! :ROFLOL:

So what are the must have drinks to try if we're only having a few?
