Epcot Dining ?

We were planning on eating at Epcot 2 nights on our honeymoon. We had chose Teppanyaki and Alfredos. However, since apparently Teppanyaki will be under refurb at that time and Alfredos will be close permanently I need to come up with some new choices.

We'll be on the DDP so we're looking for table service. I looked at all of the menus and found the ones that would work with my picky future DH. Here's what I have:

Coral Reef
Garden Grill
Chefs de France
Le Cellier
Marrakesh
San Angel

Any Suggestions would be wonderful!!!
Thanks in advance!

There is only one place for a special occasion like this in Epcot. Bistro de Paris. The Bistro is located above Chefs de France and it is quite and very romantic. I took my wife there for our 15 anniversary and the service, food and atmosphere were beyond words. The restaurant has great views out of the second story window of the lagoon and the many park guests walking by, and the good part is that nowbody even know you are up there enjoying one of the best meals on property. I would definately rate the Bistro higher than Jiko or California Grill and on the same level as Victoria and Alberts. It is a pricey restaurant, but worth every bit. We will hopefully revist at 20 years.

Enjoy your honeymoon.

From my research, Le Cellier usually receives the highest ratings. San Angel Inn is very romantic, but I really didn't care for the food. Finally, we are going to le Chefs de France in July, but right now I don't know too much about it. Good luck and have fun!

A lot of people are recommending Le Cellier and I too have heard wonderful things about it. However, I might caution you if you are looking for a romantic meal as the tables (I am told) are really close together. So if you truly want romantic, maybe consider somewhere else.

Well, my mother & I ate at Le Cellier in October and it was fantastic! We both had the Filet Mignon and it was just delicious :slurp: ! I've never eated at any of the other restaurants on your list so I can't help you there.

Most romantic meal we have had (while on anniversary trip): Hands down it was the Rose and Crown. We had a patio seat and watched Illuminations during our dessert....service and food were excellent!

If you want to try for a table to see Illuminations, get a 7:30-8:00 ADR, check in early, and request an outside table. Mentioning your special occasion also helps.

We have also eaten at Le Cellier.....great food but as stated above, the tables are close together so not very "intimate". I have had great service and poor service here.....let's see if next trip tips the tides......

We also ate at O'Hana's in the Poly......had a late seating so we could watch Wishes from the large windows...music was piped in.

LeCellier and Chefs de France

My wife and I go to CdF at least once a month. Last month we went two weekends in a row. The manager/matre di, Phillipe is great to watch while waiting for your name to be called.

By the way... does nobody eat at Bistro de Paris any more? I highly recommend it! Late reservation around 8 will have your dinner last through Illuminations and past 10 and you can walk the World Showcase with nobody else around you!

I didn't think Bistro de Paris was on the DDP???

Thanks for all of your help!

I recommend Le Chefs de France as well. Who can pass up Gormet Mac N' Cheese on the menu? I'll go ahead and tell you it was pure heaven when I had it. The wine pairing was also nice too.

Enjoy your time and be sure to tell us what you pick!

After seeing the posts my future DH has decided on Le Cellier, and I'm still trying to figure out what else.

These are the other choices that we've made - any comments would be great!

Tony's Town Square
Mama Melrose
Brown Derby
Boma
Wolf Gang Puck Cafe

Considering either Planet Hollywood or Raglan Road - The DH wants to try planet hollywood because he's never been to anything like that before but after hearing how everyone talks about it I'm not sure...

Any advice on whether to do Mama Melrose or Brown Derby as Fantasmic Package, or both? Do they limit the menu even if you have the DDP?

Thank you all so much!

Boma does not have a romantic setting at all, but it is my favorite restaurant on property! If you want romantic, I have heard nothing but good things about Jiko. I would skip Planet Hollywood. I really don't find anything special about the place. The food is average, and I don't care much for the atmosphere.

I agree with the Planet Hollywood post...there is nothing there you couldn't get at a local restaurant. Go with another location in Epcot like Marrakesh or Rose and Crown. They are both hands-down better than anything you'll find at Downtown.

For dining in Epcot, I have to recommend Marrakesh.

Skip Planet Hollywood, as it isn't a rare dining experience. I've seen one of these in nearly every city I've visited. Much like a Hard Rock Cafe, TGI Fridays, and the like. The food is ok, but not worth passing up a Disney meal.

I enjoy the Brown Derby and Wolfgang Puck, but don't really remember the others you have picked. Don't forget to mention that you're on your honeymoon as often as you can - when you make reservations for resort, dining, or anything.

Have a great time on your trip!

You may feel ridiculous, but be sure to wear the Mickey and Minnie groom and Bride ears occasionally. You would be surprised just how many advantages it affords you, I've seen people get plenty of extras on their honeymoon!

Boma is the best restaurant in WDW. Definitely not romatic - although I went with a boyfriend a while back for an 8:00 dinner and they seated us next to the window and it was pretty nice... But seriously, the food is awesome! It's the only place we make sure we go to every visit (and usually twice a visit!)

I would not recommend taking a picky eater to Brown Derby. Go with Mama Melrose. That's where we had our Fantasmic package dinner--it was the one and only time we've ever eaten there. The food was nothing spectacular, but it was fine. When we ate there, the place was almost empty, which I found a bit odd (just not used to experiencing empty eateries at WDW).

Sci-Fi Dine-in is our preference at MGM, just for the atmosphere. The menu is great for the picky eater, however, it's pricey for what it is. You're really paying for that atmosphere.

We really enjoyed Tony's - our server was so much fun,our favorite from the whole trip, and the food was good.
Raglan Road or Plant Hollywood - no contest. RR wins hands down. If you're only planning one dinner in Downtown, don't waste it on PH.
Yes, there is a special menu for Mama Melrose's for the Fantasmic dinner package. Food was OK, but I'd like to go back and order from the regular menu.
Hope this helps....

I would skip Planet Hollywood, I've had to eat there several times during Marching Band trips and it's awful. I had a bad experience at Raglan Road, but everyone else I've heard pretty much raves about it.
