Hi, We are planning trip in early December and want to book dining package for CP. In a few places I read that if you did dining for CP you also had a "reserved" spot for Illuminations. Does anyone know if this is correct? Or would I be better off doing a FP+ for Illuminations, or the dessert party to secure viewing??? Thanking y'all in advance. NonnaT

Unless something has changed - its wrong.

The CP Dining Package gives you entry into the theatre where the seats are. There are no reserved seats. Illuminations ROE is a completely separate event and only a FP will get you into a reserved area in which to stand

During our trip last December, we had the Candlelight Processional Dining Package. It did "not" give us reserved seating for Illuminations. That's entirely separate.
Sorry, I should have been clearer... I meant a reserved viewing spot.

Has anyone done the Dessert party for Illuminations? How is viewing for that? We did the party at MK one year for Wishes for MNSSHP and while my DH adored the desserts (he is a bit of a chocoholic) the view wasn't any more fabulous than we could have done on our own.

First of all, the Candlelight Processional no longer includes the preferred viewing spot for Illuminations. Secondly, if it was me, I'd just stake out a place around the lagoon early and not worry about getting a FP+ for the designated FP Illuminations viewing area. It's not better than other places I have found around the lagoon, and those places I don't need to reserve and waste a FP for, plus as I've heard, the food offerings are lame.

Yes, the designated viewing area for Illuminations FP+ last December was an area roped off at Port of Entry. It was nothing spectacular. I was glad I didn't waste a FP+ on it.
