I thought it might fun to see how many of you attended that event and maybe share a story from it. I wish I had been there!

You should ask boardmembers SillySpook13 and loweyan. They both have pretty neat stories to tell. ;)

As for me, my attendance led to me getting involved with the core team from WDWCelebrations... so that's been pretty darn neat for me. :)

A (very long) day never to forget!

Very long day - that's for certain! I spent over 16 hours at Epcot that day, from standing by the Vacation Planning booths early in the morning chatting with everyone to waiting "patiently" for the Inferno Barge burnoff (and the sing-along exit that followed).

Long day, but a great one!

I was there.

Hearing the retro music start in the entrance plaza and hearing it as I left the park was a surreal and wonderful experience.

Yep

While not for the entire day, I was there.

From almost buying the second to last 25th anniversery watch they had left (until I looked at it and saw what a peice of garbage it was)

To the pouring rains before Illuminations and seeking shelter with 40 other people jammed into the kiosk outside of America.

To getting bombarded with shell fragments from the 25th anniversery tag, saving some, and being able to get them home on the plane despite the fact they reek of powder :)

Overall, a good day to be there.

I got there after class, took pictures, got pelted with rain in front of Canada, bought my EPCOT Center baseball T and cap, and had a great day.

Oh, and I also ran into Marty Sklar walking through the park by himself. That was a fun conversation.

Best day of my life! I had the very first parking space in the parking lot, at 6 AM. Interestingly, I wasn't the very first one there, though. I was the very first one to notice the retro BGM, though. I was hoping for it so I listened carefully. I'm also proud to say that I was the leader of the Walt Disney World Monorail Pilot contingent of fans for the day! We had a blast, especially at dinner at Biergarten. I'm very lucky, too, in that I'm one of a handful of people who can say they've experienced the 25th Anniversary Tag twice.

All in all, if that day was so amazing, I can hardly imagine how the 50th will be!

Ah, and I think I helped introduce them that first time...walking through the Land pavilion, hehehe

Edit: as for my experience...well, a whirlwind and exhausting 2 days of non-stop fun, singing classic Epcot songs (loudly) until near midnight in a rain soaked World Showcase is the highlight of it I think.

Oh, yeah...I was there.
From about 8am until...ummm...what time did we leave Epcot? 1am-ish?

Big memory? Wet. Very wet.

I remember being one of the many who attended, despite being a WDWMagic lurker then. I remember thinking how hilarious it was that most of those who knew what was happening were CMs while other people just took a look and went their merry way...

Despite a pretty rainy day, I certainly had a great time. Especially interesting was that my mom happened to be in the Orlando Sentinel the next day. She explained how the senior photographer Joe Burbank took the pic & ask for her permission. It showed her taking a video-cam pic of the John Hench SSE model. She said yes. :D

Best Monday ever.

It was a little after 1 AM when we were escorted out. I do not think I will ever forget the pavilion sing-a long that was going on on the trek out. It was hands down the best day I have ever spent inside a Disney park.

You were not the only one. I was hanging around the C25 registration desk and all of us there began to applaud when it came on.

Felt later than that...must have just been the long day...
So, I guess that photo you took of me under SSE was about 6 minutes after midnight.

That was a good day. Took off school, had my mother drive me up, and got confused as a college student (Really, Adam?). I still remember the pure awesomeness that was the group ride of JII.
