Because it's a ride for one of the most popular disney IPs in a park that doesn't have many rides that cater to that demographic.

Until Rat opens. And maybe poppins. But then of course, with each new offering it draws more from MK crowds. I think they have figured out the formula for balancing the crowds.

Why does Frozen have such a large, consistent wait time?
Because it doesn’t have the greatest capacity (I’m guessing a max of two parties per boat) and is a really enjoyable ride (despite what the fandom thinks.)

(1) It’s Frozen.

(2) It’s relatively new.

(3) Maelstrom used to command long waits too because it’s a boat ride with a drop.

(4) Combine that drop with #1 and get Instant Crowds!

When we passed Norway around 6:30 last night, the socially distanced queue for Frozen was posted at 30 minutes and stretched past the check-in podium for Akershus. We just said “nah” and kept going. 😂

Also, wow, I hadn’t been keeping up with the recent updates to the main entrance. The paint on the ticket booths is, um, interesting. Still not sure what to think - it does look a little better from the back where you can more clearly see their intent.

What Disney really should do is build a proper Frozen E-Ticket with appropriate capacity and maybe a miniland around it

You mean like this?

Too late. "Norway" is all we're going to get in Orlando.

Too late. "Star Tours" is all we're going to get for Star Wars in Orlando.

....................

Oh Wait ;)

I doubt Disney will build anything new Frozen related for a while, especially with the economic hit they've taken.

They also have no incentive to do so when so many of their own fans think "Norway" is good enough.

The gap between Star Tours and Galaxy's Edge was also almost 30 years.

Thoughts from today:

1) loved the new signage around the Seas in the Epcot font

2) the exit area of Soarin was congested, maybe consider backstage entrance by Imagination! gate to enter the queue to spread people out (they do this on NYE sometimes)

3)world showcase felt so sad without cultural Representatives, just flag shirts everywhere, it really felt lacking some magic

4) dinner at rose and crown was lovely

5)future world is .... a lot of walls

If only the fan community didn't shout this from the mountain tops when the rumor began, and then when it was announced, and then when it opened with all the problems that we predicted.

Wasn't the fan community abdicating its influence by snarkily saying there's too much Frozen already? And they were then supposed to be taken seriously by saying, "leave Maelstrom alone and give us a full Frozen mini-land!!"?

Actually, didn't the fans just keep saying "too much Frozen"? That's what I recall.

Anyone there (or not), knows if there's any Flower and Garden/Food and Wine Festival AP magnets available? Thanks. :)
