Some cuts, some new things, all interesting:

First, Animal Kingdom has lost two of its acts. Both Pipa the talking recycling bin and Smear, Splat and Dip (the jugglers in Dinoland) had their final performances this past Saturday, Feb 7. :(

Next, Epcot is gaining two new acts. Viva Venezia, a musical trio, will begin performing inside Tutto Italia on Feb 23. Even more exciting is that Remy will be coming to Chefs de France on Mar 1. No confirmation yet, but strong word is that it will be the living character version first seen at Walt Disney Studios Paris.

Finally, Magic Kingdom will be celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Pinocchio with Pinocchio's Marionette Garden Party, located next to City Hall. It begins Sunday Feb 15, intermittently from 9am-3pm. No word yet on how long this will run.

I doubt Remy will be there long-term ... he is a French rat ... and I no longer dine there due to the WalMarting brought about by the DDP.

I'm glad we get to celebrate Pinocchio's 70th birthday 11 months early. Just like we got to celebrate Lady and the Tramp's 50th 8 months late, Sleeping Beauty's 50th 4 months early and Oliver and Company's 20th 4 months late.

Remy sounds neat, I was hoping to eat there when I go in March anyway. Anyone got any pics of him?

Lion King Show

Can anyone tell me the gentleman's name that sings the song that Scar does in the movie. I always see him when I go and don't want to miss him. I know I also see him in the Christmas Parade on TV each year as well.

I just have to ask (not trying to start an argument... just wondering) what is "Walmarting" exactly? I see you throw that term around a lot lately. I understand that some of the stores/shops do not carry unique merch anymore and I've seen the term "Walmarting" used to describe what has happened to the shops in WDW. While I may not like this... I understand why Disney does what it does! If a certain kind of merch is moving and selling then put it in every store. But they should still keep some of the unique merch as well. If this marketing is making Disney money... then why do we have a problem with it. Doesn't Disney making money mean we get more attractions, shows, etc. and less cutbacks!?!

And I don't understand what this has to do with Remy in Chefs de France and DDP. I know there are DDP haters out there but again the DDP has filled Disney restaurants thus more money... again, why do we have a problem with this!?! Are you disliking the fact that Chefs de France is being turned into a character meal (if I read the OP correctly)? And how is this "Walmarting"? Isn't putting a character into a restaurant a kind of "Disney thing"? Disney is characters... it sells... and that's what Disney likes ($$$$$)!

Just askin'!

So now Chefs de France is turning into character dining? Or do you mean hes just going to appear outside this location, Im confused. If this is more character dining then thats another usual spot of ours to mark off our dining list. This particular location is way too crowded and cramped and busy to have a character walking around in there, its hard enough just to get to the tables when its busy. And besides the idea of a rat walking around inside a dining establishment is a bit of a turn off, I dont care if hes cute or not.

You really need to come up with a new term. The one you use 'Walmarting' is not accurate for the point you are trying to convey.

What do you mean? The voice of Scar in the film was Jeremy Irons, former SSE narrator. Is that what you wanted to know?

Thanks for posting the vid. I think that is much more suitable to a restaurant like chefs de France than a walk around character would be (or a screen-based LCI, which is what I was thinking for some reason). Pretty cool.
