"Enhanced" Fast Pass

Do you know which attractions now have this "enhanced" fast pass? Does it work any differently? Do you know if there are plans to change around the whole system?

Thanks. :)

If you're referring to the new bar-coded FPs, as far as I know they're now at all the FP rides/attractions. I don't think anything works differently, though the date of issue is easier to read which will possibly help stop people using FPs from previous days/visits...

Yeah, I would assume you're refering to the new system in place.

Is the same that I know of. Whether or not they're using the bar codes is still a mystery.

They passes just look different.

Hah, I read this as "Enchanted Fast Pass". That movie was awesome!

Anyway, the only thing new about the FP system (I assume) is the redesigned passes with the barcodes and such. As far as I know they're not using the barcodes for anything right now, but who knows, in the future they might have automated turnstiles where you scan the barcode and it'll let you through if it's valid.

As Monty said, all FP attractions are probably upgraded to the new system now. They were in the process of upgrading each attraction while I was there during the summer. I can confirm this when I go back in late December.

I know they offer front of the line fast passes to DVC holders. I think they get a certain amount of uses out of them..but they can bypass the whole fastpass line like people do on behind the scenes tours. If they really wanted to enhance them they would stop giving out so many wheel chairs to people that dont really need them or are faking like they cant walk. Not a put down to people that actually do have issues, but to all those (and you know who you are, some of you might even be in here) i hope one day you get a cosmo kramer brand wheel chair and end up in the bottom of snow white's wishing well!

I've only seen the barcodes being scanned once, and that was a Soarin' by the Research team. Sort of on the subject...when was the last time Living w/ the Land's Fast Pass System and Machines were utilized, and does it have FP 2.0?

BTW, the 'New' fast passes are/were called FastPass 2.0 by Disney.

Living with the Land's Fastpass machines were briefly re-activated this past summer for the installation of the new style of Fastpasses.

Hot spit! I've never heard of this. Can you tell me more?
It's only for guests who are interested in joining DVC and participate in a DVC property tour. In return for the time spent on the property tour, the guests get a special DVC card that acts as a Fastpass keycard. The cards dispense Fastpasses that are valid starting about 5 minutes after they are printed. The cards are good for a total of 3 Fastpasses and are only valid the same day as the tour and are subject to availability of Fastpasses at the attraction.

I think I read once a report by a German journalist who was attending a press event and they were given some kind of "golden fastpass" which was a keycard you could use in the way described above, but without any limit on how many fast passes you could get. Of course he did not really have lots of spare time to spend in the park between events. So it makes sense that Disney would want journalists to experience as much as they can and not stand in long lines.

Living With The Land's FP's are the enhanced version. The ride's FP kiosks were used Thanksgiving week, and are used at peak attendance times, because on most non-peak days, the wait for the attraction tops off at about 20min, and is often a walk-on after 4pm.

They having been doing this for some time. When we took the tour and bought into DVC in 01, we each got 3 FP's for whatever attraction we chose.

We did this back in March when we toured DVC. It was plastic like the room key card, but not decorated and we had 3 (72 hours is what they told us) days to use them. It gave 3 different fastpasses to each member of your party and it gave the fast pass for the time that you used it, even if the current fast pass times were for hours from then. It was nice to have during Spring Break.
Not sure if that's how it still works, but that's how it did for us :)

All the fast passes we got over the past 2 weeks were the new barcoded style, but none were scanned. We also saw many people going through the fastpass line when their FP's were expired by many hours. Either the new proceedures are not in effect yet, or there will not be any changes. I guess Chistmas week will be the week to look out for.

The barcodes were used during the initial deployment of the new Fastpass system. However, it was not done by attractions CMs, but a different department (not sure which). The admission policies for Fastpass have not changed, and to my knowledge, won't.

Yeah, I was going by what someone had said here on the boards a few weeks ago that Disney was going to start disallowing expired FP's to be used when the system was up and running.

I will tell you TT needed some help with the FP system last Friday. It took us about 50 minutes to get throught the ride with FP's. The FP return line was out the door. The CM was letting about 10 FP's through and the rest was stand-by. The stand-by wait was shorter. I saw a family walk in about the smae time we got in line with our FP's and they got in 2 preshows ahead of us. Does a computer tell the CM's how many people to let in from FP & stand-by?
