ugly

I have to agree with Grizz on this one, AND many other posters.

That thing is so ugly!

i liked the experience of the ride but hated the actual look and theme of it.

You know what it looks like? Next time when you're there, look look at the lights and the sign for it..................it looks like something you'd find on a traveling fair.

I might be one of the few people on here that actually like Dino-Rama! I mean yea, it looks slightly tacky, and definately doesn't have a Disney touch to it, but I think it's fine. I also think Primeval Whirl is a great ride and I wouldn't necessairly like to see it enclosed. And for one it will probably never ever happen because it's just going to cost alot and Eisner is not not going to want to dish out the money needed for it. Plus.. I think a huge building right in the middle of Dino-Rama! will look even worse. But that's just my opinion. And like I said, I like Dino-Rama! and I think it should stay there. :D

Some people call it Primeval Hurl, because they get sick just looking at it.
Actually, they should rename it Dinosaur, because the technology is so outdated and archaic.
And rename Dinosaur back to Countdown to Extinction

I like the Primeval Whirl. I think that they should have taken a different direction but every time I go on the ride I have a blast.

I went on Primevil Whirl the summer it opened, and thought it was boring. I went on it again last summer, and found it much wilder. The car definitely spun a lot more than it had before. I don't know if each ride is different, or if it just depends on the weight in the car or what.

Aside from that, I agree with most of you that that area is the biggest eyesore I ever seen. It really looks like one of those traveling carnivals that they set up in empty parking lots and charge fifty bucks for. And what is up with those arcade games? How un-Disney can you get??? :fork: And seriously, the last thing any park needs is yet another Dumbo ride. For the money they spend on that area, they could have put in a really good e-ticket ride.

Oh well, at least we're getting Everest.

But since that won't happen I suppose enclosing it so that we don't have to look at the thing would help. Having no lighting inside so that we can't see any of it would help too.

LOL i totally agree putting it i the dark will make that ugly hunk of metal dissappear!!!!!! KNOCK IT DOWN!!!!!! what a waste of space.........

I think you have just congratulated them in their themeing then  It is supposed to be a traveling carnival type area. I hate they chose that theme...but they did it right...right down to the faded parking lot stripes on the asphalt of the area (no, although I heard it once already down there...it was NEVER a real parking lot before  ). I have overheard quite a few people say the really like Primevil Whirl. Its a fun ride...but like others said...dumb theme. I think people would be more forgiving of the theme if it were presented better to the general guest. There is a really neat backstory to the whole Dinoland area. There is one billboard on the outside of the Chester and Hester Gas shop in the one corner that really explains it nicely...but it is practically hidden. That should have been moved that out somewhere more visible.

I think though it will be a nice, less attention-getting area once Everest opens. Its ugly, yes, and if they announced they were tearing it down I would have no complaints, but it also gave AK a little colorful, nonsense area that helped to separate it from the rest of AK's rather serious message and themeing (which will continue nicely with Everest).

I love Primeval Whirl and go on it at least twice everytime I go there! Although I know the theming is different then what us Disney vets are used to, I would not want them to knock the whole thing down. And as far as enclosing it, that would take away why its fun in the first place. It wouldn't seem like you're going to fall off the end and crash into the ground if it were enclosed.

Oh, I wanted to mention one more thing about the whole DinoRama! area...it is MUCH nicer at night with all the lights on and blinking. It gives it a whole different feel. Unfortunately, AK is hardly ever open at night. Hopefully with Everest they will soon have a lineup that may enable the park to stay open later.

IMO Dinoland was very poorly (and cheaply) done. I go to Disney to get away from the dilapidated fair atmosphere. When I go into Dinoland I just can't enjoy myself. Dinosaur is a cool ride, but I think an overall of that's land theming would be great. Primeval whirl would definitely be better in doors in the dark but they've already got a dark ride in Dinosaur

So they accomplished what they were going for. That's the whole theme of that area...it's supposed to represent the traveling fairs that set up on the side of the road to make a quick buck where a "hotspot" of people were.

I'm not a fan of the area...but the theming they were going for was executed perfectly. Everyone on here is comparing it to some roadside fair or carnival...and that's the whole point of this area...it's SUPPOSED TO!

(Don't get me wrong, I hate the theme of it...but if you enclosed it...it would take away from the entire theme of the area...now...if you changed the entire THEME...then I'd be all for it :) )

Ugh Dino-Rama....not a fan by any means (although I am the Whack-a-Dino Master! ) Primevial Whirl...yuck. I rode it once...and hurt all over from being jerked around. it was so uncomfortable for me. My cousin swears he won't be able to have kids now because of his trip on the coaster.

What I understand it is a maintenance nightmare. Always breaking down and having to be repaired. It has the worse reliablity of all the attractions at AK. TS is already going down for rehab and it is only be open for over a year!!
