Empty Attraction Experiences

Last of the night on SE...We rode with the cast member who lost a game of Rock/Paper/Scissors to do a closing ride through and document the ride closing for the night. There was nobody ahead of us for and nobody behind. We got to shine our phone flashlights on things, get some interesting little things pointed out and ask questions.

Overall, it was a pretty cool experience that was less ride through and more tour.

(and no...she did not know if window girl was still there, as its not someplace normal cast are allowed to go.)

We had the RnRollercoaster to ourselves one morning. When got to the end the CM asked if we wanted to ride again. We walked thru the door and got back on. There was one other couple ready to get on.

Not in WDW but at Disneyland Paris we visited on a Monday in September. The entire park was almost empty. We were invited to stay on Space Mountain 3 times but SM in DLP is a totally different beast to that in MK so twice was enough.

MAOWTP at Disneyland was like this - March 2014.

I've experienced similar with Splash Mountain during MVMCP in 2016.

Once when I was young we were on Splash Mountain at the end of the day. My sister and I rode 3 straight times and the CMs did not make us leave the boat since there was no one in line.

In 2013, rode Pirates by myself on the boat. Got through the queue at 10:59 before an 11pm closing. It was surreal, especially through the attack on the fort scene.
Back in 1997 or 98, when they first started EMH, I took the last ride on POTC by myself. CM at loading/unloading and I were the only two people in the building. Creepiest experience I ever had in my life.

I forgot. Back in 1979 we were the only ones on PoTC also. It was late in the afternoon. Space Mt. was a walk on in the afternoon also.

Back in August I was in the magic kingdom during an after hours event. I went on POTC and there was no one on my boat. There was also no one in the boats ahead or behind me for the duration of the ride. While getting in my boat the CM said “keep an eye out for George”! I have heard the story of George so I definitely kept looking over my shoulder!

Empty dark rides are definitely creepy. When it’s HM, it just adds to the creepiness. It’s kind of unsettling when you get into Leota’s scene and all of the doom buggies are empty.

When you walk up the outside queue line to enter the hotel , and exit to the WDW Tower of Terror courtyard with no other guests around and at the same time you can hear the guests screaming when the Tower elevators doors open, it's a little scary.
Walking through the boiler room part of that queue with no one else in there would creep me out. I watched Nightmare On Elm Street way too many times as a teenager.

Splash Mountain in 2016. Somehow we managed to get 2 rides in a row. Only ones as well. Man the Laughing Place is creepy when everything is echoing

I just remembered another one. Last year I got a private ride on Kilimanjaro Safari. I was on a solo trip, last ride of the day, so the CM told me some "backstage info" about the animals. As an Animal Kingdom lover, it was perfect for me.

Did Splash Mountain twice on Dec 3 during the Christmas Party, Temp was Low 50 - High 40. Completely empty.
On the night I mentioned in my OP, it was in the high 50s-low 60s, and we rode SM, because every other time we were in MK that week, it was down. We all had ponchos, so we didn't feel the full effect of that freezing water.

WondersOfLife

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
When I was little, I had the Wonders of Life pavilion ALL to myself. It was dad's favorite place to be in all of WDW. He would bring his newspaper and have a coffee at Pure & Simple.

Meanwhile, I could ride Body Wars and see Cranium Command over and over again as many times as I wanted, all BY MYSELF.

Obviously this is why it closed down... But still. Best 3 to 4 years I've ever spent at Epcot.

I had one memorable few hours of "empty attraction" experiences, on a day during Easter break ca. 1989, at the Magic Kingdom. It was mid-afternoon on a cloudy, gray day, and my parents decided to stay at our camp at Fort Wilderness and let my sister and me (we were 11 and 13 at the time) go to the MK by ourselves. Just after we hopped the ferry to the MK, the clouds opened up and began dumping monsoon rains. By the time we got to Main Street, we had to "swim upstream" to get to the hub, as guests poured from the MK in droves, and the park seemed to empty out completely... like magic!

We proceeded straight to Space Mountain, and rode it 5 times in a row, as a walk-on. There was nobody in the queue and no other guests visible on the attraction. We felt like rich kids who'd had the park reserved just for us!

Looking for something else nearby, we ducked into "Mission to Mars." We'd never heard of it before, but it was indoors, out of the rain, and we were the only ones in the theater. Whether that was because the attraction sucked (which it totally did) or because of the park's emptiness is anyone's guess.

We proceeded to head through the rain to Haunted Mansion (we were thoroughly soaked already so we didn't really care), but I remember very distinctly that the rain was falling so fast and hard that the drainage grates couldn't keep up. The water level was up over the tops of the curbs on Main Street -- so when we stepped off the curb and into the street to pass through the hub, we were walking in a rushing river of ankle-deep water and had to be careful not to lose our footing. We then rode Haunted Mansion a good 6 or 8 times in a row, encountering just a couple of other guests. It made the whole experience 10 times creepier, for sure!

Me and my little sister, with an empty (albeit wet) Magic Kingdom as our playground! That remains the most awesome, joyful and magical afternoon I've ever had at the MK, and I doubt it could ever be outdone. :)
