Empty Attraction Experiences

What are your most memorable empty attraction experiences?
Mine was 2 weeks ago, at MK, during MVMCP. We were in Liberty Square around 11:00 pm, and with everyone gathered near the castle for the parade, there was no one around. The line for HM was completely empty, so we walk right up and directly into the Foyer that had a grand total of 1 person in it, and I think we startled her a bit. By the time we were in the stretching room, there were about 10 of us, but we were the first out when the door opened, and first to get into our doombuggy. It was so eerie during the entire ride, looking ahead and seeing only empty doombuggies. It was probably the only time where I've ever been on a ride and literally felt like we had it all to ourselves.

My wife and I were the only people on Star Tours once. It wasn't even that late, maybe 6 PM..She was chosen as the rebel spy...big choice, there.

We also walked directly on to Space Mountain at Disneyland first thing in the morning. It was pretty weird being the only guests in the loading area.

Finally, this was years ago, but my brother and I got on Astro Orbiter right before the park closed. I remember noting that for once, all the people you could see were moving in the same direction...out of the park.

On a slow day, first show of Muppets 3D at DHS, we went and sat in for the first show. There may have been no more than 7 guests in the theatre.

During MK after hours rode SM Alpha and Omega sides 5 times each with empty trains....

I've had an entire Space Mountain train to myself, Peoplemover train, Jungle Cruise and Small World boat, an entire Dumbo spinner to myself and I believe the tea cups too. Quite easy to do if you time it just right, usually first thing during morning magic hours and again late at night just before closing and during night parades and the fireworks, going an offish time of year like September or January usually helps too.

I told this story before, but I had Phantom Manor to myself at DLP a few years ago.

I waited on the front porch to see if anyone else was coming. The CM in the foyer asked what I was doing and then let me in. He looked to see if anyone else was waiting and shut the doors. Just myself and two CMs in the first room.

We talked a bit and then I was walked into the stretching room. The CM asked if I was ready and she pushed the button to get us down. From the time I left that room to the time I left the attraction I never saw anyone else except the CMs at load and unload. It was so quiet I could hear every sound FX and music cue in the ride. It was fantastic, but bittersweet in that it was the last ride of the last night of the trip.

an entire Dumbo spinner to myself

I had that too at HKDL. I went to Fantasyland right when the park opened while everyone else went to Tomorrowland.

I got to Dumbo and had to flag a CM down to let me on the ride and start it. After I got off the Carousel CM asked if I wanted to be the first rider of the day, but I decided to see Winnie the Pooh first.

That was a great morning, and no upcharge to experience it! Just decided no to follow the rest of the herd.

My wife and I had an early Breakfast Reservation at Tusker House Restaurant and finished early. The park wasn't open yet and the place was empty so we wandered over to the Safaris attraction and walked all the way through the queue line until we were right in front. We apparently timed it just right because we ended up being the first two people on the first vehicle of the morning. First safaris of the day had only 2 passengers. That was pretty special.

We were at WDW right after 9/11 and the entire resort was almost completely vacant. All the attractions were walk-ons, the restaurants were empty and there were not crowds in the parks. It was just too easy and there was not the usual challenge of diverting or luring crowds to other areas to insure low queue waits. WDW with low crowds is fun but WDW with no crowds is boring. We completed our trip in record time and got out of there.

One trip right after Thanksgiving. Arrived there Sunday and the parks seemed empty for the first few days. Walk on or short wait times for everything. By Thursday it started to get busy.

I was all by myself on Star Tours one evening. The CM and I exchanged loneliness jokes when he came in to check on seat belt connections. and off I went to fight off the bad guys all alone in a Galaxy far, far away.

Had a private showing of the Tiki Room.

I’ve been on many rides with few or no one on them. I was the first person in the parks and rode Space Mountain over and over with practically no one in the building.

Weve hit empty attractions many times but its been on those very late evening hours when EMH's were being offered and the parks were emptying out. My favorites walk ons were PoTC, SM and HM. Just had to be there at the right times.

DS and I hit Rope Drop at MK one morning in 2018, and once we passed the throngs headed to 7DMT and PP, we were personally escorted by a couple of HM CMs, who led us to the queue canopy entrance at the HM. Turned out we were numbers 8 and 9 in line behind a tour -- I can only assume it was the Keys to the Kingdom group -- but it was very pleasant not to be packed to the gills in the Stretching Room and not being groped in the dark hallway on the other side of it.

We purposely hung out at the back of the park at DHS in the early 2000's in Dec to experience the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at the park closing time. Listening to the music, the dancing lights, the snow coming from the rooftops with just a few families doing the same thing wearing Santa hats and shorts and flip flops, on New York Street were good memories.

My most memorable was at the former attraction, "Sounds Dangerous". DH and I were the only two in the entire theater. What makes it especially memorable was the way the CM rolled his eyes and looked so down about "just two".

We purposely hung out at the back of the park at DHS in the early 2000's in Dec to experience the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at the park closing time. Listening to the music, the dancing lights, the snow coming from the rooftops with just a few families doing the same thing wearing Santa hats and shorts and flip flops, on New York Street were good memories.

We never missed at least 2 shows of the Osborne Lights at HS. We never stayed for that experience; it sounds wonderful and something nice to remember

We were the only two on many rides over the years. Most recently would be the only two people a few times on FoP, Na'vi River and EE last December for AK after hours. It was amazing, there were times walking through the lands with no one else in view. It was in the high thirties that night and I think it was only the second time the After Hours were offered for AK.

The rides I can remember the two of us being the only ones on:

Astro Orbiter

Dumbo, the CM allowed us to ride three times in a row with out getting off.

Could have done Enchanted Tales with Belle if it made sense, the CM informed us we needed a certain amount of people for obvious reasons. I think 5 people showed up and we were unable to do it. We saved it for last minute and it was a fail for us.

PoTC

Splash Mountain, we rode twice in a row, the CM had us get out of the boat and as we were walking away told us we could just get back on with out having to go all the way through the queue again.

Mission Space Orange

Gran Fiesta

Living with the land, at least in our boat, we did see others in the boat in front of us.

O'Canada, there may have been one or two others, cant remember.

ToT in our Elevator, we saw a group approaching as the doors closed.

FoP, a few rides as outlined above.

EE, maybe a few times that night. The CM's did make us get off the ride each time.

Na'vi River

6 straight rides on Kali River Rapid during the last week of November on a trip. Made us get up and go thru queue 3 times then just let us stay.

4 rides on Splash Mountain as quick as we get off and back through the queue.
